192. Power of Faith and Fear

Pian Ran's silver eyes burned with shock and fury.

"I'm going to kill that Divine Creature."

Her demon energy surged, spilling from her body in violent waves, dyeing the golden and white chamber in an ominous shade of purple.

Li Wen, watching her lose control, placed a steady hand on her shoulder, his voice calm but firm.

"And how exactly do you plan to kill him if you don't even know where to find him?"

Pian Ran turned sharply, her eyes narrowed, but instead of lashing out, she took a deep breath—her demeanor shifting.

Li Wen had now casually seated himself on her throne, utterly unbothered by her outburst.

Seeing this, she placed both hands on the armrests, leaning toward him.

Her face inches from his, her breathing soft and measured, she gazed at him with a seductive glint in her eyes.

"Will you help me, my lord?"

Her voice was low and enticing, dripping with temptation.

"I will do anything you ask me to."

Li Wen remained entirely unfazed.

With one finger, he pressed against her forehead and pushed her back effortlessly.

"Did you forget? I'm married."

His tone was calm, but his words carried absolute certainty.

Through the Soul Chip, he now fully understood the marriage laws of this world.

Divorce could only be granted by the God of Marriage, and only if both parties agreed.

And without his personal permission, the God of Marriage wouldn't dare to dissolve his marriage—

Not for mere mortals and to get on his bad side.

But Pian Ran was not one to give up easily.

She ran her fingers along his arm, tracing his skin with delicate strokes, her voice whispering like silk.

"Lord, you are a Demon Lord—strong and powerful. Among humans, the wealthy take multiple wives. Surely, a Demon Lord can do the same?"

She tilted her head, her silver hair cascading over her shoulder.

"And your wife… is only a mortal. While you are an immortal. In a handful of years, she will return to the earth, while you will remain eternal."

Without hesitation, Li Wen swatted her hand away, his voice unwavering.

"We can discuss my affairs later."

Li Wen's deep green eyes locked onto Pian Ran's silver ones.

"Right now, we should be talking about your situation—which is far more urgent."

Then, his voice turned slightly sharper.

"Did you never consider verifying whether the practice method was legitimate?"

Pian Ran exhaled, shaking her head.

"I wanted to… but all Demon Lords who come to the Human Realm remain hidden."

Li Wen narrowed his gaze.

"Then why not seek help in the Demon Realm?"

Pian Ran sighed, her expression darkening.

"Do you not know about the war between the Divine Realm and the Demon Realm?"

At her words, Li Wen's Soul Chip activated, instantly feeding him the relevant information.

A moment later, he leaned back, realization dawning on him.

"Ah, right. That war was only for beings below the Demon Lord Realm. I forgot about that."

The Divine Realm and the Demon Realm waged war as a means of controlling their population.

Any being below the Third Rank—whether from the Divine Realm or the Demon Realm—was forced to participate.

It was a brutal cycle, designed to thin the numbers of weaker beings.

Li Wen tapped the throne armrest.

"The war started 100 years ago."

Pian Ran nodded.

"And it ended only a few months ago."

She exhaled, frustration evident in her tone.

"I couldn't leave or return to the Demon Realm—I was already deep into preparing to form my religion."

Li Wen's eyes narrowed slightly.

"I recall that the Divine Realm's forces for this war were led by the Sun God Lineage."

He paused.

"And you were attacked by a Divine Creature with Fire Law mastery."

Pian Ran's body stiffened, a flicker of shock and fear flashing across her face.

"The Sun God King is behind this...?"

Leaning back casually, Li Wen rested his arm on the throne.

"Not the Sun God King himself."

His voice carried an air of certainty.

"He wouldn't bother targeting you. But one of his descendants might have."

Pian Ran's fingers curled slightly, and in her palm, a silver glow appeared—the power of the Moon Law.

She whispered, as if finally understanding:

"The Moon Law is cold... It directly opposes the Fire Law."

And in that moment, the pieces of the puzzle began to fall into place.

Li Wen felt the coldness radiating from the silver glow in Pian Ran's palm.

But there was something else—something beyond cold.

"It's spreading something else as well."

Pian Ran frowned, puzzled.

"What do you mean?"

Without answering, Li Wen waved his hand.

Wisps of demon energy snuffed out every light source in the chamber, plunging the room into total darkness.

The only illumination now came from the moon energy in Pian Ran's hand.

She stared at her palm before whispering in realization.

"Light…"

Li Wen waved his hand again, and the chamber returned to normal.

His voice was calm but thoughtful.

"The Sun gives light. Fire gives light. And so does the Moon at night."

Pian Ran's silver pupils flickered with understanding.

She hesitated before finally asking:

"Lord… what am I supposed to do?"

Li Wen leaned forward.

"You still have time. He won't attack you before the Source fully forms.

But the moment the Divine Source manifests inside you… you'll be paralyzed.

And that's when he'll kill you and take the Divine Source for himself."

Pian Ran's expression darkened, fear creeping into her voice.

"Then I have to leave."

Li Wen had already mastered Demon Energy—but Divine Energy remained a mystery.

And what better way to study Divine Energy than from a high-level Divine Creature's body?

However, due to the pact between the Divine and Demon Realms, he couldn't attack a Divine Creature himself.

Which meant—

Pian Ran had to be the one to kill him.

Li Wen's lips curled slightly.

"Wait. I'll help you."

Pian Ran's eyes lit up with hope—

Only for it to shatter the moment he continued.

"But you will have to kill the Divine Creature."

Pian Ran's face fell.

"How can I kill him? My Illusion Rule is weak in direct combat.

And without my Moon Source fully formed, my Moon Law isn't strong enough to harm a Divine Creature."

Li Wen chuckled.

"Weren't you the one saying you were going to kill him?"

Pian Ran crossed her arms, her tone almost defensive.

"That was in the heat of the moment."

Li Wen smirked, leaning forward mysteriously.

"Do you know that the Illusion Law can be divided into three parts?"

Pian Ran blinked. "No."

Li Wen's other bodies had never practiced the Illusion Law, but Glenn, the alchemist in the Alchemy World, had studied alchemy techniques infused with it.

After emerging from the Dark Forest, Glenn had already reached Half-Step Virtual Realm, and his understanding of Illusion Law had deepened through the ancient alchemy books he had collected.

Li Wen's voice was calm but deliberate.

"The first part of Illusion is deceiving others."

"The second is deceiving oneself."

"And the third—" his smirk widened, "is deceiving the world itself."

Pian Ran frowned. "Which one of these will help me?"

Li Wen leaned back slightly.

"None of them."

Pian Ran's confusion deepened. "Then why did you bring them up?"

Li Wen's voice lowered, almost like a whisper carrying an undeniable truth.

"Because the ultimate goal of Illusion is to turn illusion into reality."

Pian Ran was still puzzled, but Li Wen continued.

"Use your Illusion Law to form a Demon Source—and then input the Law of the Moon you've comprehended into it."

Pian Ran's brows furrowed. "I don't know what a Demon Source looks like or how it's formed."

Li Wen nodded.

He hadn't fully comprehended his Plague Demon Source, but he did understand how to form a basic Demon Source—one without any Laws infused into it.

Raising his right hand, a purple glow shimmered at the tip of his index finger.

Then, with a smooth motion, he pressed it against Pian Ran's forehead.

Pian Ran's eyes fluttered shut as waves of knowledge flooded her mind.

The structure of a Demon Source, the method to form it, and the process of stabilizing it—

All of it was engraved into her consciousness.

After one minute, Li Wen withdrew his hand.

Another minute passed before Pian Ran's eyes opened.

Without hesitation, she sat down on the platform, closing her eyes again.

Behind her, a purple phantom of a Demon Source began to take shape.

At first, it was hazy, like a flickering mirage—

Then, slowly, it solidified into a Virtual Demon Source.

Li Wen observed it for a moment before speaking.

"Now, input the Law of the Moon."

Silver wisps began to emerge, swirling from Pian Ran's body and fusing into the Demon Source.

The once pure purple energy became a deep violet, tinted with shimmering silver hues.

Li Wen nodded in approval.

"Keep going. I'll check on you later."

Without another word, his body dissolved into Demon Energy.

The next moment, he reappeared—standing on the roof of the estate, his gaze fixed on the double-decker floating in the Moon River.
