Awakening The First Summon

As Dawn gasped out a grunt of pain, her attacker retracted his sword, cashing her to fall, but Ace was quick enough to grab her before she fell to the ground.

With a streak of tears suddenly rolling out of her eyes, she muttered some words to Ace, but he couldn't get a bit of what she was saying until she lowered his head a little towards her.

"Y…you should go…, Ace." She whimpered, the pain from the attack setting in fast.

It started as a little tingle until it throbbed against his heart like one was drilling a hole into his heart. The feeling was surreal as he watched Dawn's breathing slow down as the seconds rolled by.

His eyes glistened as some unknown memory folders rushed into his memory like he was reading the whole of Dawn's life in that moment. He hasn't known her for long, but she felt close and distant at the same time.

Making him wonder who Dawn really is. He tried his best to suppress the feeling boiling like raging seas within him, but the more he tried, the more his rage brewed against the fabric of his being.

"Save your stren—"  He tried to say to her, his fists hurled up as he watched her grow weaker with each passing second.

Unbeknownst to Ace, one of the hunters shot towards them, slamming a torrent of mana ball at him which sent him reeling away from Dawn. He rolled swiftly and landed at the foot of another hunter who wasted no time to slash its weapon at Ace, but he rolled over, dodging the attack immediately.

'Who are these people?' He asked himself unconsciously, his chest rising fast as he tried to wrap his head around what was happening.

One thing was sure, the sand demon and the wolves were not attacking the invaders which meant they were working together.

His attention instinctively crawled back to where Dawn was and a wolf was advancing towards her. Its mouth jagged open, ready to devour her upon arrival.

No matter how fast Ace would shoot towards them, he knew he couldn't make it. He clenched his fists harder as the realization set in.

Watching Dawn lay down there hopelessly triggered more folders into his mind. Vulnerable scenes of Dawn swinging and having a cheerful life which he had never seen before swept into his vision.

The more the wolf growled as it approached her, the more the folders intensified in his mind and then with a loud burst of rage, he roared out loud, an infinite inferno sweeping through the dungeon and incinerating the beast wolves with one single arc that swept across the dungeon.

Standing at the center, fists clenched and breathing heavily, his brows narrowed, his vision blurring into darkness. The air crackles with tension as shadows danced on the walls, flickering from the torches that line the stone. Rage surged through his veins, fueled by the monstrosity of the invaders.

As his anger intensifies, Ace could feel an overwhelming force beginning to take hold. His body starts to tremble, muscles bulging as they struggle against what seemed like a transformation.

Scales begin to emerge behind him in the form of a seering aura, shimmering in hues of deep emerald and obsidian, replacing the darkness surrounding the dungeon with faint lights of the torches. His eyes blazed with a fierce light, his pupils narrowing into slits as they felt the primal instincts of a divine awakening.

[5…4…3…]

A portal spiraled behind him again, the leader of the mage hunters shooting two acupuncture pins at Ace with one single strike, hinging on his skin at reach and this blurred out his vision. The inferno swirling around him dying out with the light.

[2…]

And then, he woke up briefly, his gaze landing on Dawn who was lying in a pool of her own blood.

"What has happened?" He questioned the void like he would actually get an answer.

[1…]

And then, he felt weaker again, his vision blurring as the dungeon wall seemed to fade away, shifting and entrapping him in a vast orbit filled with countless stars.

With confusion clearly glistering in his mind, he twirled about, hoping to find answers to what was suddenly happening until he felt a daunting presence evolve into the space.

A swirling mist enveloped him, breaking out his neck-piece as it crackled with ethereal energy.

As the mist began to part, a low growl  shrouded through the space, piercing yellow eyes, deep and ancient, appearing out of a rift, pulling its weight through without constraint.

Ace could feel wades of wings unfurl majestically, casting a shadow over him as the creature let out a low, resonant growl that echoed through the air, forcing his hair to flutter with the wind.

Trapped in the heat, he awaited what was to come, though it didn't feel entirely new to him for some reasons until the creature spoke to him with all modesty, bowing its head lowly at Ace despite its imposing figure.

"Master!"

"Master?" Ace mused, a little taken aback the formidable creature before him had just addressed him as its 'master'.
