Stepping On The Devil's Tail [I]

At that moment, the air around them seems to shimmer as she closes her eyes. With a graceful motion, some fluffy, soft white tails begin to unfurl, each one glistening like freshly fallen snow.

As they spread out behind her, a gentle mist swirls around, adding an ethereal quality to her form. Her tails, nine in total, move with a life of their own, dancing in the air as if caught in a soft breeze.

The mist envelops her, revealing her true nature as a majestic kitsune, embodying both beauty and mystery while Ace watches in awe, captivated by the enchanting transformation before him.

He paused as his mouth hung in a scoff of surprise as he was in disbelief of Six's true nature as being a kitsune.

"Of all ghouls I had imagined you to be," He leaned forward, his tone smooth as silk as he spoke. "I never imagined you could be a nine tailed fox."

Six folded her lips briefly, the amount of attention his eyes dawned on her falling through her skin which made her heart race a little more than earlier.

"I did tell you I am a perfect A-rank awakener." She replied with a pout, twirling a little as her blood flushed into her cheeks, emitting a pink hue.

Ace backed down, his hands still casually relaxed in his pockets as if nothing had happened.

"So tell me, how did you find your way into this academy? I'm sure security is tight on beings without form."

"Do you have to say it that way and hurt my feelings?" She sulkled, a steam of annoyance popping out of her hair.

"Who put you on my tail?" Ace demanded, ignoring her attitude.

A devious grin crawled out into the corner of her lips and her eyes sparkled with a mischievous glint. She raised her gaze at him like a little devil, falling under his gaze like she was a kid and with a cute growl, she said;

"I will only tell you if you give me a pat on my head. It's been years since I've had a human pat me affectionately and I feel like I might lose it any moment if you don't DO IT!" Six yapped, raising her tone with each single word and finally dropped out with exhaustion after running out of breath.

Ace's frown deepened as he gave her an indifferent look, wondering what sought of audacity was brewing inside of her.

"I don't think you're in any position to make a deal with me considering you've just been caught."

"Not like you're going to do anything to me if I don't speak either." She snorted, folding her arms as she pulled away from him.

"I really don't care what you are, Six. I could kill you right now and forget you were ever here." He chimed in, a touch of pride in his voice.

"Even if my death will be decided by you," Six snapped, curling towards him again. "I really don't mind that!"

'She's going to be a headache!' He mauled in his thoughts, his eyes which were devoid of a certain emotion hung over her in disbelief.

Finally pushing himself to the edge, he slowly retrieved his hand from his pocket and stretched it at her. He watched her eyes glisten in anticipation of his touch and with every single motion his hand crawled towards her, the further the distance to its destination seemed despite being up close.

Ace took a perfect landing, carefully giving her a soft pat on the head forcing her smile to widen while her cheeks puffed up brightly with a pink hue and the mist shrouded out of her tails again as they danced and bounced at his touch.

"Satisfied?!" Ace grunted, shooting her a look of disgust.

"Yes, yes, yes!" She sang, showing him her full soft smile.

"Cute." Ace said to himself unconsciously as he finally came to realize Six was indeed beautiful.

Her hair was soft and patty, her body was a bit matured for her age but it was perfect or perhaps, it was because she was not human after all.

"Did you just call me cute?" She mused, almost jumping at him.

"Well, all dogs are cute." Ace replied indifferently, walking away from her towards the academy's gate. Time was running out fast and he needed to leave. "Let's go!"

"But my soul can't step out of the academy's ground!"

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a figure stepped in front of Ace, putting his journey to an abrupt stop. A sigh of exasperation escaped his mouth as he laid his eyes on the figure.

It was Damien with his little minions who think they have a charisma that could force a threat on their prey.

"What is this?"

"Care for a little chat… behind the porter's lodge?"

* * *

"One minute is off the bat. Tell me what you want."

"You should know I'd be curious to know what had happened between you and Dawn in that dungeon, no?" Damien grumbled, his lips curling up in a snarl. "

Chuckling slightly at his words, Ace replied. "Trust me, if I tell you, you might want to jump off a moving bus."

Gbam!

Damien had shot at Ace, grabbing his shoulder and slamming him into the wall immediately. While he pressed his fingers dangerously into Ace's skin, he leaned towards him, enough that his breath swept across Ace's face.

"You really should know your place, Ace. Just because Armin is snickering around you doesn't mean I will stay out of your skin when it comes to Dawn."

"You see," He continued, his grip still tightened on Ace. "My grandma had a vision about a certain Ace Kiryū and guess what, she said to stay away from him because he smells like death."

With a slight chuckle, Ace said, doffing his head to the side a little; "Oh well, I am."

The look in Damien's eyes darkened as he slowly let Ace out of his hold. He took a few steps backwards before giving a command to his minions.

"How's that sister of yours fairing anyway? I remember seeing you with her during your awakening three years ago." He snickered, preparing himself to land the first punch.

"What?"

The two minions laughed as they walked up to Ace, pinning him dangerously against the wall to give their master full dominance.

"What was her name again?... Anya? Her legs were really pretty, don't you think?" Damien continued, slittering his tongue out to wet his lips. "She would make a perfect second wife for me." He laughed.

"Her ches—"
