After the citadel's were built, humans came across many materials that wasn't known to earth, one of the many materials where called energy crystals.
The crystal came in different geometric shapes, with precise angular edges, runic patters ran all over the crystal, it also adopted a soft, serene blue glow.
After further investigation they found out that the crystal was capable of storing and amplifying energy, it also harnesses various forms of energy, making it an invaluable resources for powering advanced technology.
**THREE DAYS LATER**
Citadel of Kraelion, Arcadia.
Arcadia is the name of the core city, located within the citadel, the city was built farther away from the wall, so as to avoid unforseen situations.
And in the middle of the city, stood a tall magnificent "A" shaped skyscraper, standing at a marvellous height of 350 meters, the tower served as a beacon of innovation and progress, it's sleek, modern design a testament to human ingenuity and architectural prowess.
Inside a vast brown hued room, a figure could be seen standing in front of the glass wall, staring at the city with his bright brown eyes.
The person was standing at 6 foot 2, with a lean, athletic build.
Their light caramel complexion glowed warmly in the soft light, complimented by a low, neatly trimmed black haircut.
The person was none other than Adam, after waking up a few minutes ago, he stood up from the king sized bead and walked towards the glass wall, staring at the city, his mouth left agape, the whole place didn't look anything like outside the wall.
Everywhere was bright, clean, organised, beautiful and... Safe.
'I wish they were here to witness this with me.' a crest fallen expression appeared on his face.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
His thoughts was interrupted when a short knock came from the door at the other side of the room.
"Come in" Adam gently answered.
The door opened and a figure walked in, the person was a tall female figure, dressed in a tight fitting jacket, black pants, and a white lab coat, she also held a tablet in her hands.
"Hi, my name is Sally, I'm incharge of making sure you're treated to the best of our abilities, Mr?" Sally introduced herself with a large smile on her face.
"Adam, Adam Slade" Adam replied.
Sally typed in something on her tablet before returning her gaze to Adam.
"So, Adam, how do feel? If you're feeling any pain or unease, feel free to share it with me." Sally questioned.
"I'm fine.. where's Davion? Take me to him!"
Adam questioned with a concern filled gaze.
"Davion? Oh you mean the other person with you, he's safe, but before I take you to him, let's talk about the replacement for your arm" Sally tapped her tablets as she spoke.
Adams eyes widened in surprise, "You mean you're giving me a new arm?!"
"Yes, we've made arrangements and just need your consent to proceed" Sally replied
"But I want to see Davion first!" Adam persisted.
"Of course, follow me." Sally gestured for him to follow as she walked towards the door.
Adam followed her as they walked through a large corridor, everything in the whole place was nothing like he had ever seen before.
After walking for a few minute, they came to a stop in front of a white door.
He watched as Sally swiped a small key card by the side of a small screen attached to the door, after the screen turned green, Sally pushed open the door.
She walked inside, then Adam followed after her.
Adam walked into a dimly lit white room, a hospital bed was positioned against the wall, curtains covered the glass wall to the side, to prevent the sunlight from entering the room.
Against the wall adjacent to the bed, stands a small cabinet, it's surface adorned with essential things like, a glass of water, and some pills, the only sound that echoed through the room was the beeping sound that came from the medical equipments by his side.
Adam walked towards the bed, and looked at the person laying on it.
"Davion..." Adam muttered, shock evident in his voice.
Davion lay on the bed with the sheet covering most of his body, his face was pale, but the thing that Adam noticed was-
"Why is his hair white?!" Adam exclaimed.
Sally pulled out her tab and tapped it for a few secs, then a look of realisation appeared on her face.
"When he was brought here, part of his hair was already white, but according to the report from the Protectors, his hair colour slowly changed on there way to the citadel." Sally explained.
"What is the cause of that? Is he dying?" Adams heart shook, as fear crept up his spine.
"Oh, no he's not dying, after running a few tests, we noticed that the cause of that must have been from a super serum." Sally replied.
"What's a super serum?" Adam questioned.
"Super serum's are genetic enhancers, they have the capability to unlock the full potential of the human physiology, granting them enhanced strength and agility, accelerated healing, superior cognitive function, advanced immune system, and many more, although there are still much to be discovered about there properties and application." Sally wasn't shocked that Adam didn't know what it was, most of the people in Arcadia don't know that a super serum exists.
Adam was left with his mouth agape, again.
He couldn't believe the words he was hearing, but he knew she wouldn't lie to him, and Davion's condition was proof of that.
" So you're telling me that taking this, super serum can make a person stronger? Strong enough to fight an aberrant?" Curiosity flashed across Adam's eyes as he questioned.
"Yes it can, but not everyone has the ability to withstand the strain that comes with taking a serum, resulting in psychological trauma, organ failure and most of the time, death."
Adam sucked in a cold breath, concern etched in his face as he looked at Davion's pale face.
Sally noticed his expression and added," He will be fine, there's nothing to worry about."
Adam glanced at Davion before walking outside the room, Sally shut the door behind her.
"Shall we proceed with the replacement of your arm?" Sally questioned.
"Yes" Adam nodded.
***
Inside a black inky vastness, a lone figure could be seen, standing in front of a colossal silhouette that loomed like a specter.
"No, I won't kill them, I won't, I won't, never!" The figure kept on repeating the same sentence.
"Just.. give.. in.. and let me.. take over.. I'll tear down.. all.. your enemies" a deep rough voice that sounded like the scraping of gravel rang out, it's unnatural timbre, making it seem like it wasn't coming from a person's throat.
Davion had appeared in the dark space since he lost consciousness, the last thing he remembered was the excruciating pain that almost killed him.
Ever since he came here, the monstrous silhouette in front of him had been telling him to give in, anytime he thought of giving in, images of how the hound killed Sam and Lisa, appeared in his mind.
He didn't want to become turn into the beast that killed the people he cared for.
"N-no, I won't... I won't let you kill them, I won't become a monster.." Davion stuttered.
After a few hours of the silhouette telling Davion to let it take control, and Davion's persistent refusal, the monstrous silhouette faded away, leaving a gentle whisper behind.
" You're worthy... "
A blinding light appeared the next second, Davion raised his head, and slowly walked towards the light, just before he touched it, he saw Lisa and Sam standing by the side, prideful smile plastered across there face, Davion let out a small smile and touched the light.
***
Inside the dimly lit room where a certain person was kept.
Davion's body twitched violently before his eyes snapped open, revealing the piercing aquamarine eyes that seemed to gleam with a soft, ethereal light.
Davion awakens!!!
