At Least I Have You

Celeste remained in the hospital long after visitation hours were over. A sweet surprise to know that, considering the VIP section of the hospital wing did not have many visitors and Tiel was no longer in critical condition, she was allowed to accompany him—even when he was fast asleep.

His face, which usually held the lines of caution and sadness, now softened to an almost childlike innocence—unguarded and vulnerable. He lay quietly beside the heart monitor that offered a constant yet soothing beep every so often.

She felt that if she wasn't going to add anything good to his life, then she should at least not add anything bad to it. However now, it was too late.
