Celeste felt something break inside her as she looked at the girls looking into her eyes as the wooden door of the large crate was pushed shut.
Isser was talking on the phone all the while, not a trace of remorse or worry. He was used to it, and his demeanor showed. Blinking an eye when he noticed her looking.
"What's wrong, sweetheart? You like what you see?"
Celeste let her gaze fall, scattering to find a good answer. When Sara stepped in, "Stop it, Iss, we have business to do. No time for flirting," she scolded.
Which received a cold, mocking look from Isser, the corner of his lips pulled to a mean smirk. "That's rich, coming from you, being Augustus's plaything."
Celeste looked over to Sara, who had her face turn crimson red. She could tell Isser had struck a nerve, as Sara just walked away.
Celeste shrugged at Isser, then waved goodbye before following Sara, hot on her heels.
