RAVENNA POV
The sharp pain of the bite made me gasp, but it was nothing compared to the rush that followed.
My body went wild with sensation—heat, pleasure, a surge of power coursing through my veins as his bite anchored us together, deeper than just flesh.
My wolf howled in response, a wild, primal sound that filled my chest, and I felt Darius's wolf rise to meet mine, both of us on the edge of something beyond human.
Every part of me seemed to burn with the intensity of the moment, our bodies moving together in perfect sync, the pressure building, overwhelming.
I could feel his heartbeat, the rhythm of his breath, the very pulse of his being merging with mine. It was a union of more than just bodies—it was the joining of our souls.
As the final wave of pressure built, our wolves collided, our bodies responding, and the bond between us snapped into place. The pleasure hit like a tidal wave, consuming us both, and I cried out as everything inside me exploded, a second orgasm crashing over me.
Darius groaned deep and loud as he pounded into me, emptying his seeds deep inside.
In that instant, the bond was sealed. I felt it—his soul, his wolf, entwining with mine in a way that left no room for doubt.
We were one.
The world seemed to slow around us as the bliss faded, and I found myself holding him, both of us trembling from the intensity of the connection.
His lips met mine in a kiss that was soft, and reverent, the lingering taste of something powerful still on our tongues.
We lay there together, tangled in each other's arms, the bond between us unbreakable, our wolves content.
Darius pulled away and then traced his hand on my cheeks and that was when I knew I was crying. Darius' eyes were glassy.
"Mine," he whispered, his eyes searching mine.
"Yours."
He kissed my nose, my eyebrows, my jaw. "Yours."
My throat closed up. "Mine."
It felt like a vow, a promise, an oath.
Darius trailed kisses all over me, whispering endearment that made the tears flow freely. And then he pulled away from me softly, causing me to wince.
He kissed the frown away from my brows stood up and went to the bathroom. He came out a moment later with a wet towel and cleaned me gently.
He threw the clothes on the ground before he climbed back on the bed, pulled me to lay on top of him, tucked my head between his neck and shoulder and just held me.
He kissed my hair and whispered, "I love you, Ravenna."
My eyes burned, a lump was in my throat, and my heart felt like it was going to burst. "I love you, Darius."
His chest raised when he inhaled deeply, falling back down when he released the breath. His fingers stroked my arm lazily, up and down, up and down, and soon I fell into a dreamless sleep.
***
When I woke, Darius was gone, but in his place was a tray of food, still wonderfully warm. The smell of eggs and fresh bread made my stomach growl, and I eagerly dug in, savoring every bite.
After finishing, I showered, the warm water soothing my body as I tried to process everything that had happened.
Pulling on one of Darius's shorts—honestly, I didn't even know he wore clothes like that—and a shirt that reached my knees, I stepped out of his room.
Mia was the first person I came across when I stepped out. Her eyes skimmed my new outfit, and she stopped dead in her tracks, blinking at me. "Oh no, you didn't," she said, her tone dramatic.
I frowned, pulling the shirt down as if it would help. "What?"
Mia raised an eyebrow, her lips curling into a teasing smile. "Are you seriously wearing his clothes? Really?"
I looked down at myself, then back up at her, my cheeks heating. "I didn't exactly plan it, Mia. I didn't have anything else."
She gave me a once-over, then shook her head. "Oh, I see. You're not even trying to be subtle anymore, huh? All wrapped up in his shirt like it's no big deal."
I crossed my arms and glared at her. "I don't know what you're talking about. It's just a shirt."
Mia snorted, clearly unconvinced. "A shirt? Ravenna, that thing's practically down to your knees. Are you sure you're not trying to make a point? You've been marked, haven't you?"
I stiffened, but then the hint of a grin tugged at my lips. "Oh, so now you're a mind reader, huh?"
She smirked. "It's written all over you, sis. The whole 'I've-bonded-with-Darius' vibe is practically radiating from you. And… your smell. It's changed."
My chest tightened with the way she easily called me "sis", but I didn't let it show and continued with our bickering session.
"I didn't ask for a lecture," I shot back, rolling my eyes. "It's just a shirt, Mia. I'm not walking around with a collar on."
"Not yet, anyway," she teased, poking me in the side. "But give it time. I'll bet you a hundred bucks that by next week, you'll be wearing his leather jacket and sleeping in his bed every night."
I shoved her lightly, laughing despite myself. "You are so annoying."
Mia held her hands up in mock surrender. "Hey, I'm just saying, you're walking around with that newly-mated glow about you. No shame in it. But don't think I didn't notice you trying to act all casual. You're his now, and you're proud of it."
I rolled my eyes, but the smile on my face gave me away. "Whatever, Mia. You're just jealous because I got the good-looking one."
She gasped, clutching her chest in mock horror. "You did not just say that! I'll have you know, I could have any guy I want—"
"Sure, sure," I interrupted, grinning. "Just admit it. You're secretly envious."
She scowled at me but couldn't hold back her laugh. "You're lucky I love you, or I'd have to smack that grin off your face."
I grinned even wider, feeling lighter than I had in days. "Too bad for you, Mia. I'm already his."
She rolled her eyes but wrapped an arm around my shoulders. "Yeah, you are." And then in a much softer voice, she said, "And you're now my Luna."
That made me pause. I looked down at her to see all the playful expressions wiped from her face and she had a soft, tender glow in her eyes. "I guess… I guess I am."
She threw her arms around me and held me tight. "I'm so goddamned happy for the both of you," she said, her voice shaking. "You guys deserve to be happy and you're perfect for each other."
I hugged her back, my eyes burning. "Thank you, Mia."
She pulled away from me and took my hand. "Let's head to the dining hall."
"I already had something to eat."
"Darius is there."
I said nothing again and just followed her. The mention of Darius stirred a heat in my chest. I wanted to see him. Even though we had been tangled in each other's limbs just hours ago, I wanted to touch him again, kiss him, just feel him.
The mate bond throbs in my chest and I rubbed the place. Was it always going to be like this? God, I wanted it to.
I never wanted this feeling to fade away for anything.
Voices from the dining room reached us when we got down the stairs and the bond throbs again and I knew Darius was nearby.
We entered the dining hall and everywhere fell quiet, all eyes turning to me. I wanted to shrink and disappear into myself.
Mia squeezed my hand and whispered, "They smell the alpha on you."
Shoot me now.
I walked into the hall and my eyes immediately landed on my mate. Everything else faded away and it was just him as he walked towards me with a soft smile on his face.
He stopped in front of me and the smile widened. "Hi," he said.
"Hi."
And then he drew me to him and kissed me. Deeply. With teeth and tongues. Cheers went up in the hall. Some people clapped, some whistled.
But all I could feel was this man.
He pulled away from me and grinned widely before he held my hand and turned me to face the pack.
"Ladies and gentlemen," he said calmly. "My mate."
The hall went wild.
