DARIUS POV
Ravenna sat up and looked down at me, her eyes wide, her hair sticking in every direction, her face flushed and her lips swollen. She was fucking perfect.
"After the feast?" she asked, her hands resting on my chest. "That's a week from today. I'm going?"
"We are going," I said, adding enough emphasis on the 'we'. "If we could go tomorrow we would, but we have to be here for the feast. The pack would be bringing gifts and want to see their new Luna so we can't leave yet."
Ravenna said nothing and just threw herself back on me, drawing an 'oooff' out of me.
"I thought you wouldn't want me to go for a while," she said, her voice muffled against my chest.
"Why wouldn't I?" I traced her spine with my fingers, making her shiver.
She shrugged. "I thought maybe you would want to spend more time with me."
"I'm still going to spend more time with you. I'm coming along after all."
A pause. "But what about your duties?"
"Lucian will take care of them until I come back."
"Okay."
She became silent after that. As much as I wanted to let her rest, the pack was waiting for us.
I pulled her away from me and held her face, brushing her hair away from it. "As much as I would love to just lay down here with you, we have to go to the pack."
She yawned, her eyes closing. "Why?"
I smiled, my chest warming with how cute she was like this. "For the feast, silly. There would be no sleeping tonight. We are feasting and partying and drinking ourselves dead till dawn."
She opened one eye. "Till dawn?"
I nodded. "Till dawn."
She groaned as she closed her eyes again. I laughed softly as I kissed her before carrying her into the bathroom where I washed her and she washed me. We dried off and I bought a dress out for her.
She eyed it. "I don't remember having this dress."
"It's new," I said as I dragged her up to dress her. She didn't complain about it and just let me take care of her, which caused my wolf to huff with pride. We loved taking care of our mate. "I brought it."
When I was done fastening the last strap I stood back to admire my work.
"Turn around for me, baby," I said softly.
She twirls and the gown twirls with her. When she faced me again her smile was wide. "It's beautiful."
I walked to her and kissed her nose. "I have good taste."
I bought it when I went into town a few days ago. I had seen the gown and immediately thought of Ravenna.
The gown was a vision of liquid silver, its fabric shimmering with a soft, ethereal glow.
It hugged Ravenna's body perfectly, the bodice delicately structured to accentuate her curves, while the straps were thin but elegant, tracing over her shoulders with an almost ethereal grace.
The skirt flowed effortlessly, cascading in soft pleats that caught the light with every movement, flaring out as she spun, creating a mesmerizing dance of silver around her.
The hem of the gown brushed just above the floor, and as she turned, the dress swirled around her like a living, breathing entity, glowing with a soft, enchanting radiance that made her seem almost otherworldly.
I wanted to give myself a pat on the back for buying it. I helped her into the matching slippers and she gave me a kiss as thank you, her smile growing as she checked herself in the mirror. She was a vision.
I got dressed while Ravenna did her hair and makeup and soon we walked down to join the pack. Ravenna was about to take the stairs to the dining hall but I tugged her in the other direction.
"I thought it would be in the dining hall," she said, her hand in mine.
"The hall is too small to contain the full pack so we set it up in the ballroom."
Ravenna stopped walking suddenly and looked at me with wide eyes. "I'm sorry… Ballroom?"
I smiled as I tugged her hand and we continued. "This is a castle, my love."
"Ah, yes. I don't know why I keep forgetting that."
"I'll give you a tour one day," I promised as we reached the hallway to the ballroom. I could already hear the music from here.
"I would like that."
As we entered the ballroom, the energy in the room surged, a wave of excitement and joy that filled the air. The pack's cheers rang out, echoing through the grand space, and Ravenna's smile grew brighter, her cheeks flushed with the warmth of their welcome.
Her hand in mine, we made our way through the crowd, exchanging pleasantries, receiving gifts, and basking in the love of our pack.
"Alpha! Luna!" came the unified chant, and I couldn't help but grin as Ravenna's eyes sparkled. She was glowing, both from the dress and the happiness surrounding her.
It was clear she had already begun to make her mark, her light and beauty drawing the admiration of everyone.
A group of pack members approached us, offering their greetings. Some raised their drinks in salute, others wrapped Ravenna in warm hugs, the men offering hearty handshakes.
Each one spoke to her like she had been a part of the pack for years, their affection for her as clear as day.
"Congratulations, Luna," one of the women said, placing a delicate necklace in her hands as a gift. "We're so happy to have you with us."
Ravenna's eyes twinkled as she thanked them, her soft voice making everyone around her feel at ease. The pack adored her, and it was easy to see why.
As we continued moving through the crowd, I felt a familiar presence behind me. I turned, and there stood Lucian, grinning like a fool. It was rare to see him smile like this. The sight made my eyes sting.
"Congrats, brother." He slapped me on the back, his smile wide and genuine. "You've found your match."
I gave him a tight, appreciative hug. "Thanks, man."
Lucian shot Ravenna a grin. "Give him hell, Luna." He gave me a wink before excusing himself and disappearing into the crowd to join in the festivities.
"I didn't think Lucian could smile like that," Ravenna said softly, still staring at where Lucian had disappeared to.
"He has his days."
Not long after, Mia appeared beside us.
"There's my favorite couple," Mia said, her hands on her hips as she took in the sight of us. "You two look like yin and yang, a perfect match." Her eyes flickered over the gown Ravenna wore. "And Darius, you've got taste. You two could break hearts tonight, you know."
Ravenna chuckled, her smile widening. "Always the one to talk."
Mia gave a mock bow. "Always, Luna." She then drew her into a tight hug, her eyes turning glassy.
She pulled away and turned to me, a teasing glint in her eyes. "Now, don't you think it's time to show off that pretty lady?"
I laughed, glancing at Ravenna. "Shall we?"
Before she could respond, the music swelled, a soft waltz playing through the speakers. I extended my hand to her, a teasing grin on my face.
"May I have this dance, my Luna?"
Ravenna's lips curled into a playful smile as she took my hand. "I thought you'd never ask."
The room seemed to fade as we made our way to the center of the ballroom. The pack watched, their cheers and clinking glasses a distant hum as we swirled together in the dance.
Ravenna moved with grace, her gown flowing around her like a silver cloud, shimmering under the light. Her hand rested delicately on my shoulder as I guided her, feeling the warmth of her body so close to mine.
As we danced, the room's energy surged around us, and I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of pride. Ravenna belonged here, among the pack, among family. And she was mine.
We danced for what felt like hours, laughing and twirling, lost in the joy of the moment. When the music finally slowed, I pulled her close, resting my forehead against hers.
"I never want this night to end," I murmured, my voice low, just for her.
Ravenna's fingers gently traced my jaw. "It doesn't have to," she whispered back, her lips brushing against mine.
We shared a soft, lingering kiss, and the pack around us cheered once more, their joy mixing with our own. As the song came to an end a voice said from behind me, "Mind if I cut in?"
I turned to Dalian and gave him a nod before I handed Ravenna over to him with one last kiss.
