RAVENNA POV
"God, Ravenna, you look beautiful," Mia breathed, her bottom lips trembling. She shook her head. "No, beautiful is too small a word to describe you. You look heavenly."
I could only nod, all words failing me as I stared at the girl looking back at me from the mirror.
It was the night of my ascension ceremony, and I didn't recognize myself.
The white dress clung to my body, the fabric soft and flowing, falling in gentle waves to the floor, covering my feet.
My silver hair, usually wild and free, was now tamed and twisted with delicate accessories—silver beads and tiny braids woven with precision, each one pulling at the roots of my hair in a way that felt like a reminder of all the eyes that would soon be on me.
I lifted my gaze to meet my own reflection. My gray eyes stared back, wide and uncertain. Was I ready? Ready for these new responsibilities? If it would mean a lifetime by Darius' side then yes I was.
Mia had told me that being a Luna doesn't mean the whole responsibility will be placed on my shoulders. Darius would be there, guarding and leading me.
Mia sniffed and I turned to her. She had a soft smile on her face, her eyes wide with unshed tears.
"Don't do that, Mia," I whispered. "I'm barely holding myself together right now. If you cry I will cry and then all those hours spent on preparation will go down the drill."
"I'm sorry," she said breathlessly. "It's just… God, look at you. You're going to be my Luna. I wouldn't have liked for anybody else to be." She walked to me and held my shaking hands. "You will do great, sweetie. The pack already loves you."
I inhaled. "You think so?"
"I know so."
"Alright, let's do it."
I opened my door to see Dalian standing there, leaning against the wall. He smiled when he saw me and pushed me off the wall.
"You look dazzling, Daliah," he said as he reached me and placed a gentle kiss on my forehead.
I gave him a tight smile. "Thank you."
"Calm your nerves," he said gently as he caressed my cheek. "This is a special day for you and this pack. You will become an equal to your mate and a leader to your pack. The former Luna was a Lupinarian, and now here you are. That is how I know this is right. You and your mate will do wonderful things together."
My smile widened and all tension left it. "Thank you, Daliah."
He smiled back before he stepped back. "I'll be driving you to the lake."
I nodded and followed him, Mia walking beside me.
We passed some of the pack members who wouldn't go to the ceremony, the air heavy with the smell of food. Some bowed as I passed, some threw flowers while some clapped.
I swallowed the lump of emotions in my throat that wanted to choke me and walked outside. A car was waiting already. Dalian entered the driver's seat while Mia and I entered the back seat.

The lake was vast and still, shrouded in a mist that seemed to rise from its depths like whispers of ancient secrets. The air was thick with the scent of earth and water, and everything felt... sacred. Timeless.
Dalian opened the door for us, his calm presence easing some of my anxiety. Mia helped me out, and together, we walked toward the small gathering.
A few pack members—including Lucian—stood quietly at the edges, their faces serious but proud, and the elders were gathered in a semi-circle, their robes flowing around them like shadows.
They stood by a raised stone altar, covered in moss, with offerings of fresh herbs and small candles scattered across its surface. It was simple, yet profound—everything about this ceremony felt like it had existed for centuries, waiting for me. Perhaps it had.
And then I saw him.
Darius.
He stood tall and commanding, as always, but tonight he looked different. His usual dark clothes were replaced with a white tunic, its fabric shimmering faintly under the torchlight, almost as if it were alive.
The gold embroidery along the hem and sleeves caught the light, reminding me of a crown. His silver hair was swept back, and his mismatched eyes—those eyes—were locked on me, full of something deep, something soft and beautiful. His presence alone made everything feel right.
All tension left me like mist rolling off my body and suddenly I couldn't wait to be completely his.
Darius stepped forward, his hand reaching out to me, a soft smile on his face. "You're utterly enchanting," he whispered, his voice low and steady.
I took his hand, my fingers trembling slightly. As I stood before him, I felt the weight of the ancient vows we were about to exchange. The air was thick with the power of the ritual, and I could almost hear the echoes of those who had stood here before us.
One of the elders, an ancient woman with white hair flowing down her back like a river of moonlight, stepped forward and spoke in an ancient tongue.
Her voice rang out across the lake, deep and melodic, carrying with it the weight of centuries. The others joined in, their voices rising in unison, creating a chorus that seemed to blend with the whispers of the earth itself.
Then, the elder turned to us, her eyes filled with wisdom. "Say your vows."
Darius squeezed my hand, and for a moment, the world seemed to fade around us. All that remained was him and me, standing on the edge of eternity.
He spoke first, his voice steady but full of emotion. "Ravenna, you are my equal, my heart, my strength. I vow to protect you, to honor you, and to lead with you. We are bound by the stars and the earth, and in you, I find the peace I have searched for all my life."
I swallowed hard, the words Mia had made me memories tumbling from my lips as though I had known them my entire life as if the stars themselves had written them for me.
"Darius, you are the flame to my soul, the strength in my heart. I vow to walk by your side, to love you through every challenge and every triumph. Together, we will carry the weight of this pack, as equals, as one."
Darius smiled at me, his hands on me trembling.
The elder nodded, a smile of approval on her face, and she stepped forward, holding out a chalice made of polished stone, its surface etched with ancient runes. Inside, a dark, rich liquid shimmered, catching the light of the torches in a mesmerizing way.
"Drink," she said softly, her voice reverberating with wisdom. "This wine binds the vows, as it has for all those who came before you."
Darius held the cup first, bringing it to his lips, his eyes never leaving mine as he took a slow, deliberate sip.
He passed the chalice to me, and I followed suit, the wine rich and smooth, filling me with warmth and a strange sense of connection—something older than time itself.
When the cup was empty, the elder smiled, a silent blessing passing between us, through my very veins and bones. And then the wine seems to settle on my lower belly, causing warmth to pool in my panties.
I clenched my thighs together, feeling the heat increase. Darius must feel the same because his eyes were dark and filled with lust. When I dared to trail my eyes down, I could see his cock straining against his pants. I raised my eyes back to his and nearly melted when he winked at me.
"You are now bound," the elder intoned softly. "Luna of the park. The leader of this pack. You shall lead with love and strength, as the earth and stars command."
The pack gathered in a soft chorus of approval and thought there were only a few of them around.
Darius held my waist and kissed me hard, grounding his cock on my belly.
When he pulled away his eyes were almost completely black with lust. "I'm going to take you home and fuck you."
