RAVENNA POV
"You're truly going to help us?" Dalian asked Darius, his voice quiet.
"Yes, Dalian," Darius answered, his arms around my shoulder. "I just said that."
They stared at each other for a while, an unspoken conversation passing through them before Dalian nodded. "Your help will be deeply appreciated," he said. "When will we be able to leave?"
"Tomorrow. I would first need to tell my pack about this new arrangement and see who's coming with me."
Dalian nodded before he walked to Darius and clasped him in the back. He leaned down and kissed me on the forehead before he turned and left without a word.
I could tell he wanted to be home to our people at this very moment but he was holding back. Hell, I wanted to go right this hour. I wanted to help them in any way I could.
Hearing Dalian say they would have to move had been the last straw that broke the camel's back. The idea to take out those fuckers have been in my mind since the day Dalian told me how our mother was killed. No, it has been since that day Darius told me how he was killed.
And hearing Dalian say they had been changing location had filled me with bitter rage.
Those packs didn't have the right to take our lives from us. We shouldn't live in constant fear. We were the strongest bred for fuck sake!
It was time we stopped running and started fighting.
"... to pause their partying and sober up," Darius was saying. "We'll have a meeting in three hours."
I looked up to see Lucian nod and leave the office. Mia said something about getting some sleep before she followed after him.
"Come on," Darius said before he took my hand and led me to his room. "You should sleep, too."
I rubbed my eyes as we entered the room. I was so goddamn tired I could feel it deep in my bones. Darius and I said nothing as we took off our clothes, washed the dirt out of our bodies, and lay in bed, naked, with only the blanket covering us.
I rested my head on top of his chest, hearing the beat of his heart.
My mind wandered to the cabin. I wanted to return there and explore all the things Darius had set up for me. But that would have to wait. There were more important things to do.
"I can hear you thinking," Darius said softly, his voice resonating in his chest.
"What was that between you and Dalian earlier?"
"Hmm?"
"The both of you had like a silent conversation."
"Oh. It's nothing." He tightened his arms around me. "Push your thoughts away and sleep, baby. We have a long day ahead of us."
He didn't need to tell me twice.

The sky was dark by the time I woke up, and Darius' side of the bed was already cold. I rubbed my eyes and moved to stand up when a knock sounded.
Mia poked her head in and smiled when she saw me. "Hello. You look like shit."
"Good evening to you, too," I grumbled, tugging the blanket up my chin. My head felt like drums were going off in there. I wanted to curl into a ball and die.
Mia stepped inside the room with a tray in hand. She placed it in the drawer beside me and handed me a hot mug.
"That will help with your hangover," she said as she walked to my closet and took out a bed. I didn't bother to ask what she was doing and just drank the ginger tea.
When I was done with the tea she pointed at the tray and commanded, "Eat."
"Yes, mom."
Mia rolled her eyes and continued packing.
"You know I can pack my own things, right?"
"Forgive me. I forgot that important information," she replied without looking up, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Get used to people serving you. You're Luna now."
I said nothing and just ate in silence.
"Alright! All done," Mia said after a while, zipping the big bag and rolling it to a corner. "I packed all the essentials, but is there any other thing you need again?"
"No. Thank you, Mia."
She winked at me. "Anytime." She took the tray from me and threw down a dress. "Get dressed. You would want to stretch your legs. Tomorrow will be one long drive."

"Do you have everything you need?"
I tried not to groan. "Yes, Darius, I do!"
He acted like he didn't hear me and continued going through my small bag as we walked to his car, nodding at himself. "Good, good. You do."
I sighed and took the bag from him. He has been acting like a mother hen since we started getting ready to start the journey. Fussing and asking me countless times if I needed anything.
I may not act like it but I loved it. It was nice for someone to take care of you.
The sun was still about an hour away as we prepared to leave. Two long buses were already filled with the pack members that'll be accompanying us. Mia would be riding with Dalian, while Darius and I would ride in his car. Lucian was staying behind to oversee things until Darius came back. Who knows how long it might be?
The journey started smoothly. Dalian drove to the front because he was the one who knew what we were doing. According to him, it would take a day and a half to reach the village. And we were driving non-stop.

By the time the sun was beginning to set the following evening, we had finally reached the village. The long stretch of road behind us had been tiring. I was aching all over.
The car's tires rolled over gravel, and as we turned a corner, the village came into view. A few houses, stone and wood, dotted the landscape, surrounded by thick woods and the distant mountains. The air was cooler here, crisper, and the scent of pine lingered in the breeze.
My pulse quickened as my eyes took everything I could from the car. I was here. I was home.
We pulled into the village, and at first, everything was still. The pack's vehicles rumbled through the small dirt roads, attracting curious eyes.
I saw the first few villagers step out of their homes, their expressions wary. A few of them exchanged whispered words as they watched the convoy approach.
It was no surprise.
Dalian had warned us they might be unsettled, given that so many strangers had arrived at once. And after the recent attack, they were bound to be on edge.
As the cars rolled deeper into the village, some of the older wolves came outside, their sharp gazes assessing us as we passed. Dalian was at the front of the convoy, his car slowing as he approached the village center.
The moment he stepped out, a few people gasped in recognition, and the tension seemed to evaporate like mist in the morning sun.
"Dalian!" A gruff voice called from the crowd.
Dalian smiled faintly, his usual stern demeanor softening just for a moment. He moved toward the man, a towering figure with a scruffy beard and broad shoulders. The two exchanged a few words, the man's eyes scanning the pack behind Dalian before his gaze landed on me.
He paused, his eyes widening as he took me in. He looked back at Dalian before he looked back at me again. And then he smiled. "You found her."
