Granting the love birds wish
Although the nobles are enjoying the drama especially the ladies and some of the narrow minded noblemen who have been rejected by Isla but they still find it weird that none of Isla's braindead admirers has tried to stand up for her.
It's understandable if other noblemen are afraid of Vivian's family's power and influence but what of the duke who is rumored to be so in love with Isla to the extent that he doesn't care about the archduke and the imperial family's influence and he's is willing to go against them and divorce his wife in order to get married to Isla his true love, why is he just standing there while he watches his wife disgrace the love of his life and plan her family doom in front of everyone, is his love for Isla just a lie or why is he so calm about it even Isla can't help but feel betrayed when she see that the duke is not saying anything or even make the attempt to help.
Even Vivian can't help but feel like it is weird since she was a reader and she practically knows about the legendary love between the female protagonist and her male leads and how protective all the male leads are toward the female lead so why is he currently silence, is Vivian transformation that shocking that the male lead is so speechless that he can not do anything or is the love between the male and the female protagonist not strong enough that the male lead doesn't feel the need to protect the female protagonist but even that seems wrong to Vivian but that is not her main concern right now, how to deal with this green tea bitch of a female protagonist.
"Since you've pleaded for my forgiveness so badly with such a desperate attempt, it would be bad of me not to forgive you, especially since everyone knows me for my benevolence and kind heart, I definitely can't be cruel or can I," Vivian said with a smirk on her face "I will forgive you"
Everyone in the ballroom was shocked, they couldn't believe that Vivian would just forgive Isla like that not after showing them a whole different side of hers tonight so they couldn't help but have a bad feeling about her so-called forgiveness.
Even the so-called male lead, Duke Loe wanted to say something but ended up not saying anything after seeing the look in Vivian's eyes, it's looks like that of a predictor staring at his prey, he can't help but want to see the end the result of Vivian sudden change and also he had this feeling that if he should say anything he might end up regretting it.
"To show Lady Isla that I've forgiven her, I will do her a favor and grant her her lifelong dream," Vivian said with a smile that looked so charming that it bewitched the soul of everyone in the ballroom but at the same is time scared them.
Isla's face got paler when she heard Vivian's words, this was the first time Isla had come to hate the word favor "No Your Highness, Im good, there is no need to disturb Your Highness to grant me a wish, your mercy is already the greatest favor you could ever grant me" Isla was shaking so much that it seems like her head will remove for her body.
"No my lady, I need to show the world that I've forgiven you so I was thinking since my lady is already of age and is currently in need of a spouse maybe I should have my uncle the emperor arrange a marriage for you at least that will clear up all the misunderstanding and rumors around about wanting to seduce others husband or what do you think my dear husband," Vivian said mischievously as she turns to look at the duke, her beautiful and innocent face make it seems like a child playing a prank which make the heart of those watching run cold.
Isla's face turns white in fear, arranged marriage is the nightmare of most noble ladies and that's why they all pray to find a nobleman who truly loves them and is accepted by their family since there is no love in most arranged marriages and it most times ends in tragedy with the female side receiving the worst end of it, Vivian case is a typical example of which marriage, Isla look at the duke with a desperate eyes with the hope of him saving her but yet his eyes is still on his wife
Even the nobles who are gloating can't help but feel pity for her, offending a high noble is like signing your death warrant but offending one with high influence in the imperial family is even worse, who knows? The Duchess might actually be able to convince the emperor to arrange a marriage for Isla just to get her out of her sight, worse it might even be to a low ranking knight or an abusive noble.
"And as for you my dear husband, since you desire your freedom so much then I shall free you as you wish, I'm using this opportunity to announce to you all that tomorrow the Duke and I will be going to the holy temple to dissolve our marriage"
