Chapter 537 Ignorance

"Did something happen, love? You look stressed," a handsome man asked, his voice filled with concern as he glanced at his wife.

His wife was the most important person in his life, which made him constantly vigilant, always attuned to her well-being and mood.

"It's nothing. I just suddenly have an upset stomach," Grace replied, forcing a smile. It was a lie, of course.

Her stomach did feel uneasy, but not for the reason she had given.

In truth, she was regretting ever attending the party.

She had thought it would be just another social event, another night of polite conversations and empty pleasantries. Instead, it had turned into something far more unsettling.

She wasn't new to obsessive men—she had encountered more than her fair share over the years.

Being beautiful often felt like a curse, drawing the attention of men who saw her as nothing more than a prize to be won, a possession to be claimed.
