Artifact

Sensing that only he and Mona were left, Noel called out, "Why don't you join me?"

Mona declined, "No, thanks. I'm your maid, sir."

Noel stuffed another chicken piece into his mouth. "Oh, first, stop calling me sir. It's Noel, not sir. And I actually don't need a maid for me. You can just accompany me and feed me with info when I need it."

He sipped the wine. "What do you know about this Prima Sanctuary? Are you also part of it?"

Mona denied, "No, sir… I mean Noel." She continued, "I think I'm not eligible, so I never tried to go myself."

Noel asked, "Huh? You haven't tried, and you know you're not eligible?"

Mona replied, "With my weak power, how can I think myself an eligible participant who can enter the Prima Sanctuary?"

Noel laughed. "So, it means I'm also not qualified to enter the Prima Sanctuary, right?"

Mona spoke hastily, "No, how can that be…"

Noel looked at her. "I'm going there, which means, as my maid, you have to follow me. Then we'll know if you and I are qualified or not."

With that, he got up from his chair and looked at the stairs. "Wish I could also vanish like those people." Then he started heading towards Sameera's room.

Mona followed him, thinking, "What a carefree guy." She felt that there was something different in Noel from the others she had met in her life.

The thought of joining the Prima Sanctuary gave her hope, but then she felt sad, thinking about something else.

Noel, oblivious to her thoughts, knocked on Sameera's door.

"You can come in," Sameera replied.

Noel entered as Mona was stopped by the butler.

"You have to wait here," Butler said.

Mona nodded as Butler closed the door.

As Noel entered, he saw a pinkish room with red curtains and carpets. The furniture was white, as were the accessories.

Then he saw Sameera sitting near the window, holding a box as she waited for Noel.

Noel approached her. "So… what was the thing?" He felt nervous; this was his first time entering a girl's room.

Sameera said, "Come here." She pointed to the empty chair in front of her.

Noel seated himself, his eyes fixed on the mysterious box in her hand.

Sameera noticed this and placed the box in front of him. "With this, you can survive inside the Prima Sanctuary."

Noel took the box, "What's inside this?"

Sameera replied, "Open it and look."

Noel opened the box and found two items: a black ring with a white ruby and a necklace with a small spear made of bone as an attachment. He asked, "What is this?"

Sameera said, "Wear it first."

Noel did, first wearing the ring. But he found nothing changed. Noel looked at Sameera with a questioning gaze.

Sameera explained, "This is a defensive ring. Right now, it looks like a normal ring, but when sensing danger, it will form a protective barrier around the bearer."

Noel nodded, understanding. Then he wore the necklace with the short bone-made spear.

As he wore the necklace, it attached to his skin and submerged into his body. He felt pain and cried out loud,

"AAAhhaaaaAAAa!"

Sameera looked worried but remembered her master's warning: "Don't come into direct contact with Him when he wears the Necklace, or the consequences will be unimaginable."

She called out to Noel, who fell to the floor, feeling an unbearable burning sensation on his chest. His eyes locked onto Sameera, "Whaaaaat have youuuu doneee?"

Sameera cried, tears flowing from her eyes. Noel clutched his throat as the pain spread throughout his body.

"Noel…" she called again, wanting to go close to him but unable to.

She thought, "Master, I did as you told me, but he…" She cried, watching Noel suffer in agony on the ground.

As the pain escalated, Noel lost consciousness and fell motionless to the ground. Seeing this, Sameera called Butler, "Uncle Henry."

Butler manifested in front of her, seeing Noel on the floor. "What have you done, Princess? Is he okay?"

The door opened, and Mona entered, witnessing the scene before her eyes.

Initially, she thought Noel was dead and Sameera was the reason, but seeing tears in her eyes, she understood the reality was different.

Sameera spoke, "Take him to his bed and make sure he's okay."

Butler nodded, picking Noel up from his aura, and then vanished with him.

Sameera looked at Mona, "Make sure to look after him, and when he awakens, contact me ASAP."

Mona nodded and left the room, heading towards Noel's room.

Upon entering, she saw Noel resting on his bed, with Butler beside it.

As he saw Mona, he spoke, "He's breathing; it seems he lost consciousness for some reason, but he'll wake up soon, in a few hours if not in a couple of days. Inform us when he wakes up."

Then he vanished.

Mona approached Noel and checked his neck and hands for bite marks.

Her initial thoughts were that, despite denying it, Sameera had turned Noel into a vampire. But Mona found nothing. "What did she do to him?"

she thought, trying to speculate the reason for Noel's fainting in Sameera's room.

In Sameera's room,

Butler returned and knelt before her. "Miss, what have you done to him? You know we cannot let any harm come to him, or that person will be angry with us, and it's not something we can bear."

Sameera spoke, "Don't worry, Uncle Henry; Master will not do anything."

Her mind was on Noel, thinking about his well-being.

Butler said, "Even if he's your master, we cannot forget that he is one of the…" But he didn't continue, as Sameera spoke,

"This was something Master entrusted to me, so he knows it will happen. That's why he told me to keep a distance when he wears the artifact."

butler's body shuddered when he thought about Sameera's master, "that guy is dangerous, I hope he won't turn against us someday."
