Since that was settled, Alice decided to ask Damian once more,
"Damian, you're not fond of killing people, right? Are you sure you want to come along?"
"Yes," Damian said. "If I can't bring myself to kill wicked people who do cruel things to their fellow humans, how will I bring myself to kill monsters?"
"Well, that's technically true but you don't really have to spill human blood just because they are no different from monsters." Diane said. "Once you do, there's no going back."
Damian went silent, pressing his lips together.
Alice watched him. Her elbow was on the table and her face rested on her palm. His side view looked so handsome.
And though that wasn't the kind of thought to be having at such a time, she couldn't help it.
"Will you be able to do it, though?" Alice asked him and he turned his face towards her.
The side view was nice but the full front view was still the best.
