Dropping and Reason

Yo, author here.

So sad to say say that I am dropping the book because of three reasons, all leading to myself.

The first reason is due to my writing style. If you read most of my dropped work, you would realize that I tend to write books that are very fast pace and solely focus on the combat of the story and have the MC slowly fall into a battle maniac and stuff like that. But with this book I thought I might just take it slow and take my time by actually planning ahead on what should work.

And it helped for the first five chapters, but I then got hit by a wall of sorts. I could not for the life of me figure out the next chapter and how to write it. I have the whole story planned out and whatnot, but I had no clue on how to get it to that point. For instance the last chapter was not supposed to be like that and was meant for something further down the lines, but since I had no clue on how to continue from that point I had to bring it in. Which made it so much harder to write the rest of the chapters and timing these chapters so they would match with the flow of the story. Cause before you would see chapters coming the next day to the next, where as now you would see them slowly get delayed to days or even a week. Which can be led onto the next reason.

Second reason, personal life. I am currently in school and wrote this whole story and its history while still taking my Majors. Not a good idea if you are a inspiring writer or just, like me, writing for the fun of it, cause your going to have to focus not only on your school work, but also how to properly plan out the time and dates, especially if you work full time like me.

So the whole get chapters on time, get to work from 5-2 at night, and wake up and head to classes at 9 in the morning is not a good schedule to work with if you are actually for once trying to write a chapter slowly like I was. Especially on the weekends where I am scheduled to come in at 3 and still leave at 2 at night.

Last reason is due to my fun. First I enjoyed writing the little chapters I had since it felt nice leading them to certain parts of the story. But at the same time, I found and felt like it was just me just writing a essay for school and not a work that I had any fun in. Trying to lead the story focusing on the MC and detailing the entire story as I wrote was sort of not fun. I'm use to writing the backstory and history of the world first hand and leaving the rest of the future actions to fate. So me trying to not only write past things but also things that will happen to the Mc was not fun the slightest.

Does this mean I am dropping this book completely? Sadly yes, since I made the whole story of it to be played out slowly and with the future story to already be set up. But this doesn't mean I am completely abandoning the entire thing.

You see, as I was searching the internet I discovered something called 'Multiple MC Stories' which involve a story not focusing the whole world on one MC, but many, all with their own backstory and life. Also as of recently, I began reading some novels that were solely combat oriented, not going into details but just know know that the story didn't seem to have a problem like mine. I must say those novels were good to read and have to give a 10/10 to the writers.

But that isn't the point, you see as I have said before I wrote and write using the basic way of writing which involved, introducing the world slowly, building up the MC's history and character design, as well as slowly introducing the MC's goal. But after reading these novels, I am going to change it up.

Yes I will still be writing this novel, but in a different way. The MC, which is a human, will be replaced with a monster or a nonhuman. And will be apart of a race I had set up as the big bad for the original MC's story, which by far was my favorite part of the story when I was creating it in the first place.

So with these factors, I will continue said story, but on a different style and way. One that I am used to. Also, it probably wont be on this account and probably on another, since I primarly use this one to read and not write. Probably will upadate this chapter once it is out so you can read and judge if it is better or not.

Thank You for Your Time and Understanding.
