Hiller hesitated, then nodded. "Be careful."
As Hiller focused on strengthening the barrier, Malakai charged forward, his energy flaring as he confronted the encroaching wave. He swung his sword in wide arcs, cutting through the creatures with unrelenting force. His powers surged, each blast of energy creating a brief reprieve in the onslaught.
But the monsters kept coming. And the high guardians fought valiantly, but exhaustion was taking its toll. Even Hiller's Supreme energy showed signs of strain, his barrier flickering as he struggled to maintain it.
"We can't hold them much longer," one of the High Guardians said, their voice filled with despair.
Hiller's jaw tightened. "We don't have a choice."
Just as the situation seemed hopeless, the ground beneath them rumbled, and the Rift emitted another deafening roar. The creatures paused momentarily, as if sensing something far greater stirring within the darkness.
