The Job

As Charlotte walked into the office, she was greeted by the friendly receptionist, who offered her a warm smile. "Hi, you must be Charlotte. Mr. Johnson is waiting for you."

Charlotte nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She had been nervous about this interview all morning, but now that she was here, she felt a sense of calm.

The receptionist led her to a large office with a stunning view of the city. Mr. Johnson, a tall, imposing man with a kind face, stood up to greet her.

"Charlotte, it's great to meet you," he said, his voice warm and friendly. "Please, have a seat."

As Charlotte sat down, she couldn't help but notice the unusual way Mr. Johnson was treating her. He was being overly friendly, almost...deferential.

The interview itself was a breeze. Charlotte answered Mr. Johnson's questions confidently and concisely, and he nodded along, making notes on his pad.
