Chapter 215: Evil Creature: I'll Face You at My Strongest, Don't Disappoint Me

The evil creature stood motionless, its gaze unwavering.

"I've found you."

The creature swung its halberd fiercely to the side. With a resounding boom, the halberd collided with Lin Fan's leg, the resulting shockwave rippling outwards from the point of impact.

"Impressive," Lin Fan praised.

In a flash, the creature grabbed Lin Fan's ankle, roared, and slammed him into the ground.

Its speed and strength were both extraordinary.

"Hmph!"

The creature snorted disdainfully, as if possessing human emotions. "Human, you're too slow."

Its words dripped with contempt for Lin Fan.

Lin Fan climbed out of the crater, dusted himself off, and scratched his head with a smile. "Really? Seems I am a bit slow. I thought you wouldn't be able to see me."

His demeanor was casual, as if he hadn't taken the previous attack seriously. He appeared almost embarrassed. He had been worried the creature wouldn't see him, but it had not only seen him but also grabbed his ankle and slammed him into the ground, covering him in dust.

Qin Han and Li Dacheng's hearts were pounding in their chests. The attack had been terrifying, but thankfully, Lin Fan seemed unharmed. Still, the situation wasn't good.

"Can you tell what kind of creature this is?" Li Dacheng asked.

Qin Han shook his head. "I can't. Its origins are too mysterious. Like I said before, it's highly likely it has some connection to humans."

The corpses of the other evil creatures nearby were likely this creature's doing. But if it had killed them, there should have been energy fluctuations. Yet, headquarters hadn't detected anything.

There were only two possible explanations:

This creature's energy fluctuations were difficult to detect. There was a traitor at headquarters, concealing the information.

The first possibility was more likely. The second was highly improbable.

"Qin Han, I think this creature has reached the Heavenly King level, and it's even stronger than typical Heavenly King creatures. Humanoid, with extreme speed and strength," Li Dacheng said.

His brief analysis had already revealed the creature's power. If the analysis department were to examine it, they would undoubtedly classify its threat level as maximum.

Qin Han said, "That's not the main point. The key is its intelligence isn't low."

A troublesome foe. An extremely troublesome evil creature.

The Rooster, an evil creature itself, was a bit nervous. When it saw the foolish human get slammed down, it had been ready to flee. But when it saw the human get up unharmed, it relaxed slightly.

It seemed the fight could continue. It could wait and see.

"Excuse me for a moment."

Lin Fan raised his hand, signaling the creature to wait. Then he stretched his legs and bent at the waist.

"Pre-battle warm-up."

"..."

His actions were puzzling, but they reassured Qin Han and the others. His relaxed attitude amplified his calmness. It was as if he hadn't been afraid from the start, and was merely experimenting.

A moment later, Lin Fan extended his left hand with fingers together, placed his right fist at his waist, bent his knees, and positioned one foot forward and the other back, assuming a classic fighting stance.

"Please instruct me."

As soon as he finished speaking, he vanished.

"Foolish human."

The creature's eyes darted around, searching for Lin Fan. It could still see afterimages. Its thought process was simple: this human was arrogant, using the same tactic again.

And aiming for the same spot.

Lin Fan reappeared beside the creature, spinning and delivering a powerful kick. The creature swung its halberd again, meeting the kick head-on. The impact was even more powerful than before.

The creature reached out to grab Lin Fan's ankle.

The force of the kick shocked the creature. Cracks appeared on the halberd, spreading rapidly. With a bang, the halberd shattered. Without the halberd to block it, the kick landed squarely on the creature's neck.

The creature hunched over, its head drooping, but it didn't fall to the ground. It braced itself and swung its arms, but Lin Fan dodged the attack.

Lin Fan spun in the air a few times and landed steadily, a smile on his face.

"You really are strong. You saw through my movements again. But my strength has increased, and I broke your weapon."

"But I don't have any money to compensate you. Damage is a normal part of combat."

"You know."

Lin Fan explained, as if worried about having to pay for the halberd.

Even if he had to, he didn't have any money.

Qin Han and Li Dacheng exchanged glances, shock evident in their eyes.

"So strong."

The seemingly ordinary kick had contained devastating power. They wouldn't have been able to withstand it.

"Lin Fan, go for it!" Old Zhang yelled in support.

Lin Fan raised his arm and gave a thumbs-up. "Okay."

The creature's breathing grew ragged, its rage building.

It touched its neck and twisted it, throwing the remaining half of the halberd handle to the ground. It grabbed its armor, pulled it off, and tossed it aside. The armor landed with a boom, creating a crater in the ground.

Now, everyone could see the creature's true form.

Black skin, etched with purple markings. Muscles like small mountains, brimming with explosive power, concealing unimaginable strength.

The creature twisted its neck, a cracking sound echoing.

"You are the strongest human I've encountered. I will face you at my strongest. I hope you don't disappoint me."

As soon as it finished speaking, the creature vanished, its speed even greater than Lin Fan's earlier. In the blink of an eye, it appeared before Lin Fan.

The air pressure from its sudden appearance tore at the ground.

"So fast," Lin Fan exclaimed.

The creature raised its hand and slammed it towards Lin Fan's head. With a boom, Lin Fan was sent flying, his body plowing a deep furrow in the ground.

"Human, you disappoint me. With such meager strength, you're not worthy of me removing my armor," the creature roared.

Swish!

Perhaps it was teleportation.

Lin Fan appeared before the creature, mirroring its previous action. He raised his hand and slapped the creature's head. With a bang, the creature was sent flying.

A moment later, the creature staggered to its feet, shaking its head. Crack. Its helmet shattered, revealing a palm print on its face. Blood trickled from the corner of its mouth.

It stared at Lin Fan in disbelief, seemingly unable to comprehend what had just happened.

"My strike is stronger after all," Lin Fan said with a smile.

For some reason, he seemed smug as he spoke, giving Qin Han and the others a strange impression.

What was there to be smug about?

But considering his opponent...

On second thought, it was indeed something to be smug about.
