The Hidden Threat

Naomi aimed her flintlock at one of the bandits, her finger poised over the trigger. The cold metal of the gun felt reassuring in her grip, and her eyes narrowed with deadly focus as she locked onto her target. Beads of sweat formed on the bandit's forehead, glistening in the dim light filtering through the dense jungle canopy. His breath came in ragged gasps, and the fear in his eyes was palpable as he stared down the barrel of Naomi's gun.

"Please… Don't kill me! I… I will tell you!" the bandit stammered, his voice trembling with fear.
