Chapter 22

The Calm Before the Storm

Eric

Morning light filtered through the forest floor as I made my way to the training grounds. The air was crisp and cool, a welcome change from the tension that had hung over our pack in the aftermath of the battle.

I took a deep breath, filling my lungs with the scent of pine and earth, reminding myself of the strength we had built together. Today was crucial; it was time to prepare for what lay ahead.

As I approached the clearing, the sounds of rustling and murmurs reached my ears. I could see a small crowd of wolves gathered, some stretching and others engaged in light sparring. Daniel stood at the center, his commanding presence drawing the attention of those around him. He looked up as I arrived, his expression brightening.

"Alpha Eric! Glad you're here," he called, clapping his hands together. "Everyone's eager to get started."
