The courtroom fell completely silently.
The clerk who was walking back to his seat didn't know when he halted in disbelief.
Jett paid no attention to them and just turned his attention to Kelsie, the corners of his lips curling up in contempt.
"What is that look for? Didn't you say you'd compensate me?"
How brazen.
Kelsie's lips hardened into a thin line, absentmindedly sitting on the chair beside her.
While she thought of what to say, one of Jett's lawyers turned to him in confusion.
"S-Sir, are you sure about what you're saying?"
Jett's eyes dimmed.
"Why? Does my breath reek of alcohol or do you just think I'm suddenly out of my mind?"
Although the lawyer quickly shook his head in refusal, his eyes and that of other lawyers were saying otherwise.
Yes! Yes, sir! We think you're out of your mind! Only someone out of their mind would propose to a woman they were going out with in a courtroom.
