As if on cue, another call came in while she was talking with Asher Rowe.
Seeing the name she hasn't seen in the past four months sprawled across her screen, she didn't know when she chuckled.
"I see you've finally learnt how to use your phone." Jerry Sutton's disgruntled voice came up as soon as the call connected.
Kelsie said nothing.
Jerry hissed loudly, quickly assuming she thought he called to ask for help just like he had been doing.
"Don't you worry, Kelsie. I didn't call to ask for your help. You already made it clear four months ago and the months following it that you don't care what happens to your father."
"I should loathe you for leaving your sister and I to hang four months ago, but I won't. You know why? Because I'm your father and you're my daughter."
"And I've called today to invite you to your little sister's 23rd birthday which is tomorrow. I doubt you even remember."
Kelsie's lips twitched slightly.
