The music was low, but the loud laughter ringing from every corner made up for the lack of noise.
Recalling she told her children she'd be home early, she found a quiet corner and took out her phone to call them.
She spoke with them for a few minutes before getting up to find what to eat.
She took a bite from the lap of a fried chicken, but spat it out almost immediately, wincing in disgust as she wiped the side of her mouth clean with a serviette.
She tasted other things, but none tasted right to her tastebuds. Hence, she grabbed a bottle of non-alcoholic grape wine and went to a corner, taking her seat behind a group of young people her age.
She had just taken a sip when their conversations made it to her ears.
"Speaking of which, where is she? Shouldn't she be here for her young sister's birthday party?"
Kelsie naturally paused and glanced behind her shoulders.
Of course.
She just had to sit behind these people.
