"Seems like your training in the forest paid off."
Tsunade complemented, aware that he was training on his own.
...
"Keep working at it, Shizune, guide him."
Walking away, Tsunade ignored the look on Sakura's face. Both Shizune and Tsunade were shocked by Reko's performance with ninjutsu.
'He did it in first try!! It's similar to how he learned the ninjutsu that time.'
Tsunade thought, recalling the incident of Reko learning the fire release jutsu in one day.
Sakura used the handsigns, the glow of healing on her palm dim, but she persisted. She aimed the jutsu at the injured fish, slowly increasing the intensity of chakra.
The pressure on her was very high. Lady Tsunade had accepted her as a disciple. She could not be left behind by a nobody who just joined them in the middle of training.
She tried hard, practiced all day yesterday. She could not give up.
After eight hours of relentless efforts, Sakura finally managed to heal the fish properly. This was two times faster than the pace she would have had if she did the training alone.
Currently, she managed to learn the jutsu in half the time because of Reko's presence. The sense of competition, the presence of another person who did things quickly made her adapt to the pressure and unleashed her potential.
...
After the students had left, Tsunade and Shizune sat across, discussing together.
"What do you think of Reko?"
Tsunade asked Shizune for her opinion on the talented Chunin.
In her absence, Shizune was the one who had been monitoring and guiding the apprentices in the training.
"He is talented. Much more than any shinobi I have ever witnessed."
'And he likes older women. Especially curvy ones like you.'
Shizune answered honestly, it was true that Reko was talented in ninjutsu. Especially with how quickly he learned and adapted to the training.
She had been guiding him together with Sakura. And to say the least, Reko was talented as well as resourceful. He didn't shy away from training even by himself, resulting in greater results.
"Is that so? He is hardworking too.."
Tsunade murmured, hearing Shizune's opinion of Reko. She was contemplating how to proceed with the lessons.
With Reko's talent and hardwork, it was likely that he would leave Sakura behind after gaining experience in the hospital.
"Are you considering making him your second student?"
Shizune asked, seeing Tsunade deep in thought. She was in favour of Reko coming under Tsunade's apprenticeship.
"No. Nothing of that sort. I was just thinking about his talent in ninjutsu."
"Recently, we have lots of young shinobis who are talented."
"Naruto, That Hyuga, Guy's student, Sakura. There are lots of them, if Reko is dedicated then I don't mind teaching him everything I will be teaching to Sakura."
Tsunade showed her willingness to teach Reko and make him the second apprentice. It was a good feeling, teaching someone who learned fast.
...
Just like that, a week passed.
Reko learned under Tsunade, with Shizune guiding in some parts, and the training to heal the wounded fish continued until both Reko and Sakura were perfect with their skills.
Surprisingly, Sakura's level of chakra control allowed her to catch up to Reko's efficiency, causing Reko to work even harder. He wanted to keep his lead.
Reko had managed to learn everything from the three books and he was done organising the information already.
However, that was not all. In the span of week, he got familiar with Tsunade as well as Shizune.
Tsunade was a habitual gambler, during the reconstruction of the village, she even proposed having a casino in the village though she was scolded by Shizune for this.
Although, the plan to have a casino constructed in the village was a failure. Tsunade still managed to find out the regular go to places where she could gamble and drink.
And she was a frequent visitor to those places, a solid 4 times in the last seven days.
Being close to Shizune because of trianing, Reko and Sakura got to know of these incidents.
"You have done quite well. Impressive!"
The beautiful woman who was gambling drunk last night stood in front of her students and complimented.
"It's time we move to the next step. You both will be taking part in hospital's service, healing cuts and bruises on the patients."
Tsunade explained, though what she did not explain was that they would have to be almost twenty four hours available in the hospital, working tirelessly.
They would even directly join in the difficult operations but only for assistance.
"Patients directly?"
Sakura questioned in surprise. She had done the training fine, and she could confirm that her healing and precision didn't lack to Reko's. Even though she was lagging behind in the beginning, she became his equal in the last week.
But was it really enough to treat the patients directly? Didn't they need to learn for years before getting to work? It has been two weeks at most.
Although, it was true that Reko's exceptional chakra reserve made him a better medic. Even he did not have any experience other than healing cuts and wounds. Directly operating on a patient was a little difficult.
"You would be under a doctor's supervision, assisting them as they request."
"Do not worry. With the training you have done on the fish, it would turn alright. Though, you still need to be cautious. You would be working on humans."
Tsunade smiled as she explained patiently. The learning speed of the students had surprised her. So, she was adjusting her schedule accordingly, trying to make the best of the time.
'She was able to catch up because I didn't have many targets to practice on, but now. Shadow clone!'
Reko thought as he imagined the training they would be doing in the coming days. He could not spam Mystic palm on the fishes, and it was also difficult to use it on himself. He needed patients to operate and this was going to be best for him.
During the week, he had managed to acquire a Chunin level charge.
Also, his shadow clone level increased to level 41. His constant spamming of shadow clone combined with his increased chakra control was a big factor.
Reko was now capable of making five shadow clones at a time. The clones were not weak either, their endurance was around fifty percent of Reko's body, meaning it could take hits before getting dispelled.
