Natives

Chapter 75: Natives

Kyouka's preparations came in clutch as she took out her tent from a wooden box. She conjured the same tent she and Nith had used on the swamp island. It came with a heater and enough space for a lot of people to sleep in.

At first, none of the snake people wanted to rely on her compassion, saying that only the queen and the king deserved this much hospitality and that they could manage in the white desert.

While those monikers gave Kyouka a lot of questions, she didn't allow anyone to refuse her kindness and forced as many snake people inside as possible. Those that couldn't enter were sent on watch duty, changing with others at proper intervals.

Inside the tent, Kyouka turned on the heater and sat down. For the first time, she could sigh with relief and warm herself up. Her hands were plastered to the heater. Nith sat beside her, also enjoying the warmth.
