Inside a high-tech conference room is Kosum, an Elementalis alien who has abilities related to the four elements: water, fire, earth and air; and Aqua's father, checking his daughter's log. Suddenly Nathan enters, a human being who has lived on the planet Elementarium for five years since he left his home planet. Nathan asks him why he called him, and he signals him to come closer. Nathan approaches and Kosum shows him Aqua's log.
Nathan notices that the recording mentions the word "Nate", which is the name of his son. He also hears the phrase "Garden of Eden", a project that he had planned to save his planet and that he ended up implementing where he lives now. Kosum highlights the word "war" in the log and asks why he mentions it.
—That means that Nate already told you what caused the current state of my planet— he answers. Kosum asks him what he means and Nathan begins to tell him the story of how the planet Earth ended up transformed into an uninhabitable place.
Meanwhile on Earth, Aqua sits in a chair in front of Nate, asking him to tell her how it all happened. Nate prepares himself and begins to tell the story, starting with the phrase "this is how it all began."
It is the year 2672. Planet Earth had been established as a utopia in which all countries are in peace and harmony and war is almost nonexistent. Conflicts are resolved through negotiation and dialogue, which has generated a global shift towards war, thus reducing the arms industry to exorbitant levels and creating a system that prioritizes the prevalence and survival of the human race and an efficient and adequate use of the planet's natural resources over everything else. All this is achieved thanks to an anonymous scientist who at some point said the following phrase: "The planet's resources are more than enough for humanity, but not for our greed." This phrase changed the way of thinking of the entire human race and transformed society completely.
In a huge city in an apartment building, a newscast is heard giving information about an event that has recently affected the planet's water. Inside the apartment lives a human being who is getting ready to go to work, when suddenly he hears a knock on the door. From the window of his apartment, a child is seen drinking water from a faucet in the city park until it stops flowing even though it has not been turned off. The child realizes what has happened.
The human opens the door and receives a group of plumbers who come to check the apartment's water sources. The leader of the group asks the human being if he has been receiving water regularly. He turns his head from left to right and tells her no. Then the girl asks him if she can open the refrigerator and he gives her permission. She opens it and sees ten large containers of mineral water filled. She tells him that there are bottles that can generate water thanks to an atomic fusion system that combines oxygen and hydrogen atoms for a certain period of time until the atoms are exhausted. Then she asks him why he doesn't buy one of those.
—It's because its price is equivalent to 20 containers of the ones I have in my refrigerator— he answers. The boss tells him that, despite that expense, he could get water for 3 whole months with that bottle.
Then, using a call bracelet that she has on her left wrist, she communicates with one of her employees who is checking the shower. The employee tells her that the shower doesn't produce a drop of water.
—That confirms everything— he answers, ending the call. She gets up and turns back towards the owner of the apartment and begins to talk to him.
—Sir, the sources of fresh water on earth have reached their limit— she tells him seriously—. They will no longer be able to generate more from now on.
The days go by and there is less and less fresh water on the planet. Outside a leading water distribution organization, a huge crowd of people gathers demanding that they be given water again. The company's guard tries to stop the riot, but some manage to get in and create a disturbance. In addition, in various sales of goods around the world, the prices for bottled drinking water begin to rise to control the high demand for the resource and some people steal it to avoid paying the high costs of the product.
The depletion of water continues its course. Two months after the catastrophe began, some fishermen are in a river that had dried up completely the day before, taking advantage of the opportunity to collect the dying fish and throw them into the boat.
One of the fishermen says that the constant drying up of the rivers is just the tip of the iceberg and that in the not too distant future the situation will escalate to unimaginable levels.
Another month has passed and the unrest over the distribution of water to the citizens continues. Within a high-class organization, they discuss the situation facing the planet.
—The depletion of water will not be the worst in the long term— says Noah, one of the senior officers, old and gray-haired, getting up from his seat—. As time goes by, the situation will get worse. Due to the drying up of the rivers, the soil on the surface will begin to crack and become infertile. This will cause plants to no longer be able to grow in the soil, which will generate a lack of food for us and the herbivorous animals. Then the carnivorous animals will experience this lack of food because their prey will die much faster due to the scarcity of plants. And finally, we will be the only ones left and we will perish for the same reason. The Earth will be left without any living being on its surface. And the worst thing is that this is a situation that will never return to normal. This planet has reached its expiration date— he continues looking through a window.
The first six months pass after the tragic event began. The soil of the planet is already experiencing serious consequences due to the increasing lack of water. The high command has tried to find solutions such as purifying sea water, but it has not been possible to execute it because it would take a very long process. In addition, the sea water is slowly running out.
In a town, people continue to generate conflict over the shortage of water outside a huge building. The disturbance lasts for several hours until a loud bang is heard. Everyone turns behind them and observes a trail of smoke from a shot of ammunition from an old war tank heading towards the town.
