A massive white snake slithered rapidly through the forest, carrying five people on its back like a living train.
Chasing closely behind them was a swarm of cursed spirits, moving like a horde of zombies.
"Can't this thing go any faster!?"
Kugisaki Nobara shouted as she threw several long nails. Her hammer followed in an arc through the air, striking the nails with perfect accuracy.
The nails shot forward like streaks of light, piercing toward the cursed spirits behind them.
Whether they hit or not, Kugisaki clenched her fist, activating the cursed energy attached to the nails.
"Straw Doll Technique: Hairpin!"
A bright blue burst of cursed energy exploded, blasting away many cursed spirits. But before long, more surged forward to take their place.
Yoshino Junpei was also busy controlling his jellyfish shikigami, Shigure, doing his best to stop the spirits from attacking the white snake.
"These things are as annoying as zombies!" Kugisaki complained, her arm growing sore from swinging her hammer.
"This is as fast as it can go!"
The rushing wind from Great Serpent's speed roared in their ears, forcing Fushiguro Megumi to raise his voice just to be heard.
Because of his limited cursed energy, he couldn't sustain a shikigami of this size as easily as Yukinoshita-senpai could. On top of that, carrying five people was already pushing the snake to its limit—getting this much speed was impressive enough.
"By the way, why do these cursed spirits all look exactly the same?"
Yoshino Junpei shouted, directing Shigure's tentacles to stab an oncoming spirit. The attack tore a massive hole through its chest before casually tossing the lifeless body aside.
"They're probably all copies created by a single main body," Fushiguro explained.
"Their individual strength is weak, but there's a huge number of them. If we want to get rid of them for good, we have to find and eliminate the real one."
"Then—where's the real one?" Yoshino Junpei asked, a bit dumbfounded.
"If my guess is right, it's hiding among these copies. They've been chasing us nonstop, which means they can't be too far away. The more copies it controls, the shorter its range must be."
Listening to Fushiguro's analysis, Kugisaki Nobara nodded in understanding.
"So, it sacrificed range and individual strength in exchange for sheer numbers."
Her sharp gaze swept over the swarm of twisted, zombie-like cursed spirits, trying to pick out the real one.
"The real one should be different from the rest…"
Finally, her eyes locked onto a cursed spirit that looked stronger than the others. Unlike the dried-up, corpse-like copies, this one had a sturdier body, and a faint orange glow flickered on its chest.
"It's you, isn't it?"
A grin stretched across Kugisaki's face, slightly fierce but full of confidence.
"The glow on your chest might as well be a giant sign saying, 'Hey, my weak spot is right here!'"
She tossed two long nails into the air, swung her hammer, and struck them perfectly on the heads.
Two streaks of blue light shot forward, one after the other, nailing directly into the cursed spirit's glowing core.
The impact sent the spirit stumbling backward, halting its movement for a split second—just long enough for the swarm of copies behind it to pile on top of it.
One after another, the zombie-like cursed spirits tripped and collapsed, quickly piling up into a small hill.
And that was exactly what the orange-haired girl had been waiting for.
"Straw Doll Technique—"
A sly smile curved at the edge of her lips as she raised her hand and snapped her fingers.
"Hairpin!"
The moment her voice fell, blinding blue light erupted from within the cursed spirit pile, piercing through like a field of glowing spikes.
The deep blue cursed energy shot up into the sky with a loud explosion. Countless cursed spirits were either blasted to dust or sent flying, their purple blood raining down like a violet storm.
The zombie-like cursed spirits that weren't caught in the blast started collapsing one by one as their source was exorcised. Their bodies melted away as if doused in acid, quickly vanishing into the forest.
Now free from the cursed spirits that had been holding them back, the white snake shikigami carried the group back to the Jujutsu High campus. They were heading straight for Shoko Ieiri's infirmary when they spotted other jujutsu sorcerers still locked in battle with curses.
"Wait! That's Maki-senpai and the others!" Kugisaki Nobara pointed at a tall girl with a high ponytail, her voice filled with excitement. "I'm going to help them!"
"Wait, what about your frostbite?" Fushiguro Megumi asked.
"This little injury? It's nothing!" The orange-haired girl pouted. "Fushiguro, are you looking down on me?"
"Huh!?" Fushiguro Megumi's expression darkened.
"Haha, I'm just messing with you." Kugisaki Nobara waved her hand and smiled. "You guys go ahead and find Miss Shoko. I'll back up Maki-senpai!"
Without hesitation, she jumped off Great Serpent's back and charged into the fight alongside the Zenin group.
Seeing her rush to help, Yoshino Junpei hesitated. He wanted to go too, but before he could say anything, Fushiguro Megumi cut him off.
"You should stay put. Your injuries are worse than Kugisaki's. In your condition, you'll just slow them down."
"Ugh… fine." Yoshino Junpei looked a little guilty. "Sorry."
"Let's just get to Miss Shoko already."
Fushiguro Megumi glanced at Nanami Kento and Ino Takuma, both unconscious. He had done some quick bandaging, but their wounds were severe, and the bumpy ride hadn't helped—blood was still seeping through.
He urged Great Serpent forward toward the infirmary. The path was clear, with no enemies in sight, likely because most of the curses had been held back in the outer areas and hadn't reached the core of the campus yet.
Fortunately, Shoko Ieiri hadn't moved her location despite the invasion. When Fushiguro Megumi and his group arrived at the infirmary, they found her waiting, along with her medical assistant, Nitta Akari.
"Miss Shoko!"
Fushiguro Megumi and Yoshino Junpei rushed in, carrying Nanami Kento and Ino Takuma.
The mature woman with long brown hair and a beauty mark under her right eye showed no sign of panic. Calmly, she gave instructions. "Lay them on the operating tables over there."
"Got it!" The two hurried to follow her orders.
"Nitta." Shoko Ieiri quickly assessed their injuries and began preparing medical tools.
"I know."
Nitta Akari, a young woman with short blonde hair, stepped forward and traced a five-pointed star formation over the severely wounded men. Then, she gently placed her hands on their bodies.
Nitta's inherited technique, Healing Stop, worked like a painkiller. It couldn't heal wounds, but it could slow bleeding and lessen pain. However, it wouldn't work on injuries sustained after activation.
It was purely a support-type technique, but it was incredibly useful in medical treatment, which was why Shoko had recruited her as an assistant.
With Nanami Kento and Ino Takuma's conditions stabilized for now, Shoko turned her attention to the more seriously wounded Ino.
She unbuttoned Ino Takuma's shirt, revealing a deep gash across his chest, nearly cutting him open entirely.
A soft white glow formed in Shoko Ieiri's palm as she started healing him, while Nitta Akari assisted by stitching up the wound.
Fushiguro Megumi and Yoshino Junpei were anxious, but at this moment, all they could do was wait.
…
...
"Hahahaha!"
A wild, manic laugh echoed across the sky above Jujutsu High.
Ryoumen Sukuna's figure streaked through the air, his face twisted in excitement. "So, you can summon that shikigami too!?"
He plummeted from the sky, smashing through the tiled roof of a building before crashing heavily into the ground.
Immediately, he flipped backward and landed on his feet, just in time to see a barrage of shattered bricks and debris flying toward him. A massive white arm broke through the wreckage, growing larger and larger in Sukuna's crimson eyes.
Twisting his body, he threw a punch. But compared to Mahoraga's enormous fist, his attack looked like nothing more than an ant trying to push over a tree.
Their fists collided, and for a brief moment, everything around them fell silent. Then, after a short delay, a powerful shockwave erupted, tearing through the air. A deep crack suddenly formed along the walls of the building, splitting it apart from top to bottom before the raging wind shattered and sent its remains flying.
Both fighters took two steps back, but then, from above, a slender figure dropped into the battlefield. Her sleek black hair flowed with her movement, and her graceful posture was almost otherworldly.
Yukinoshita Yukino flipped midair, her long and slender leg slicing down like an axe. The heel of her sneaker smashed into Ryoumen Sukuna's head, driving him straight into the ground, embedding him into the floor.
As soon as her attack landed, Yukino swiftly retreated. Right after, Mahoraga seamlessly followed up, stomping down with a heavy foot, causing the already cracked ground to collapse further beneath the force.
However, the sharp sound of slicing flesh rang out. Mahoraga suddenly stumbled sideways—its forward-stepping leg had been cut into pieces. The next moment, a massive force sent its entire body flying.
Yukinoshita Yukino froze for a split second before her eyes widened in shock.
Ryoumen Sukuna had already appeared right in front of her, his fist drawn back and ready to strike.
A wicked grin stretched across his face as he looked at the black-haired girl, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "You can't use Reverse Cursed Technique, can you? If I take you out, that should forcefully cancel the Ten Shadows summoning, right?"
His fist shot forward. Yukino quickly crossed her arms to block, but she was still sent flying.
Sukuna threw another punch, then casually flicked his hand, sending a sharp slash her way. Just as she managed to steady herself in midair, blood suddenly splattered from her shoulder.
Landing hard, she crushed a tree trunk beneath her feet to stop herself. Yukinoshita Yukino glanced down at her bleeding shoulder and clicked her tongue in frustration.
"Tch."
Sukuna was right.
Without Reverse Cursed Technique, she wouldn't last long in this intense battle. If she suffered too many injuries, she wouldn't even be able to maintain the Ten Shadows Technique. And once Mahoraga was out, she wouldn't stand a chance against Sukuna.
Watching the wounded black-haired girl from a distance, Ryoumen Sukuna's grin widened in confidence.
Just as he lifted his head, a sword of exorcism came slashing down at him. He raised his forearm to block, and the ground beneath him immediately cracked and collapsed from the impact.
The black Exorcism Sword shone with a bright white light.
Sensing something, Ryoumen Sukuna dodged in a flash. He then drove his fist into Mahoraga's head, making the shikigami stagger. Following up immediately, he unleashed a powerful cleave.
Two deep slashes appeared across Mahoraga's chest—but they quickly healed.
Sukuna countered with another slash, while Mahoraga swung its arm in return.
Both were sent flying backward.
Mahoraga crashed into the forest, its massive body smashing through dozens of trees before finally coming to a stop. Meanwhile, Ryoumen Sukuna was blasted into a cluster of buildings, tearing through walls like a cannonball, kicking up a massive cloud of dust.
Deep in the forest, Mahoraga slowly rose from the ground. It turned its gaze toward its temporary master, locking eyes with her.
At the same time, the ritual circle floating above its head trembled slightly—then rotated once.
Click.
Yukinoshita Yukino's eyes widened in surprise.
Amid the ruins, a pile of rubble suddenly exploded outward.
Ryoumen Sukuna stepped forward, hands in his pockets, his amused smile directed at the black-haired girl and the massive white shikigami standing beside her.
"Oh? Instead of running away, you're actually coming closer?"
"If I don't get close to you, how am I supposed to beat you up?" Yukinoshita Yukino smirked, a strange glint flashing in her deep blue eyes. She took a step toward him, Mahoraga following closely behind.
"Hah. You've got guts." Sukuna grinned as well and took a step forward to meet her.
In an instant, both of their slow movements exploded into full speed, their figures vanishing in a blink.
The moment their fists and palms clashed, the surrounding buildings and stone pavement were torn apart by an onslaught of invisible slashes, leaving deep scars all over the battlefield.
At the same time, a figure shot toward them from the sky above Jujutsu High.
A white-haired man hovered in midair, breathing slightly heavier than usual.
