Chapter 135

Alpha Gael Romano - POV

I couldn't scream, nor could I look away as I saw them drag Zachary across the clearing and push him into the circle. Zachary had never shown an ounce of fear from the time I had known him, but right now, I felt like I was seeing an entirely different person. 

His eyes were as wide as saucers, and I saw goosebumps on his skin as he tried to walk away from the circle, but something held him in place. His eyes looked around the clearing when they locked with mine. 

No words were uttered, but his eyes conveyed it all. I can see the betrayal in them as clear as day. I was mad at him for taking my mate away, but I know that he would have only ended up in lifetime imprisonment for that, but for treason, it is death, and I was entirely to blame.
