Chapter 18: The Shadow’s Savior

The new arrival moved with the quiet, lethal grace of someone used to commanding respect. His presence seemed to command the room, the air itself growing thick with the weight of his power. The men in the room froze, their eyes snapping to him as if they were mere pawns in the presence of a king.

Zayd, who had been struggling with the taller man, looked up in surprise. His breath caught when he saw the new figure.

"Liam," Zayd muttered, disbelief and relief in his voice. "What are you doing here?"

Liam's cold eyes scanned the room, taking in the situation in an instant. His gaze lingered on Noor for a moment, an unreadable expression crossing his face before he turned back to the men.

"Release her," Liam ordered, his voice commanding and final.

The men hesitated for a moment, clearly sizing him up, but then the taller man spoke, his tone dripping with contempt. "And who are you to give orders?"

Liam didn't answer directly. Instead, he stepped forward, his movements smooth and deliberate. He didn't need to say another word. He was a force in and of himself. His presence alone was enough to make the men back down, their confidence faltering under the weight of his authority.

With a final, threatening glance at Zayd, the men let go of Noor. She stumbled forward, her body shaking with the shock of everything that had just happened. Zayd rushed to her side, wrapping his arm around her to steady her.

"Are you alright?" Zayd asked, his voice rough with concern.

Noor nodded, but the fear in her eyes was evident. She had just experienced a glimpse into a world she couldn't have imagined, and it had nearly cost her everything.

Liam stepped forward, his gaze shifting between the three of them. "You're safe now," he said, his voice still calm, but there was an edge to it that made it clear he was not someone to be trifled with. "But you're not out of the woods yet."

Noor looked at him, still trying to process what had just happened. "Who are you? Why are they after me?"

Liam glanced at Zayd before answering. "I'm someone who owes a debt to your family. But that's not important right now. What matters is that they're not the only ones who want you. The people behind them—well, let's just say they're more dangerous than you can imagine. You're a target, Noor. And the only way to survive this is to trust Zayd and keep moving forward. There's no going back now."
