"I don't need to justify my actions to you," Max said, his tone icy but controlled. "You're being used, Cap. Pierce and Hydra—they're still out there, and they're pulling your strings without you even knowing it."
Captain America's face hardened, clearly not liking where this conversation was going. "Is that your excuse for murder? Blaming Hydra? I've seen the devastation you've caused—those people didn't need to die."
Max shook his head, the air around him seeming to grow darker, colder. "You think you know the whole story, but you don't. They were Hydra agents. They had innocent blood on their hands long before I got involved. But you're too blind to see the bigger picture."
"Or maybe you're just too far gone," Captain America shot back, gripping his shield tightly.
Max's grin returned. "Maybe. But it doesn't change the fact that you're standing in my way."
"Last chance, stop the HYDRA bullshit and admit your wrongdoings" Captain said.
"What if I don't" Max asked tilting his head.
Captain America's eyes hardened as he strapped his shield securely to his arm, charging forward. "But you have to," he said, his voice resolute as he sprinted at Max.
Max's smirk deepened. "I've heard that Vibranium is unbreakable. Let's see if that's really the case." With a subtle motion, Max activated Night Armament, summoning a massive greatsword from the shadows. Unlike before, his new mastery over gravity allowed him to wield the giant blade with the precision and speed of a katana, its dark edge gleaming ominously.
Cap's eyes widened slightly, seeing the sword materialize in Max's hand, but his faith in his shield never wavered. He pressed forward, swinging the Vibranium shield toward Max, intent on knocking him off balance and ending the fight quickly.
With a calm, almost predatory grace, Max swung his greatsword down in an arc that seemed far too fast for its size. The weight of the blade didn't matter anymore—he could manipulate gravity to bend to his will.
The clang of metal against Vibranium rang out as the two forces collided, the sound echoing through the valley like a thunderclap. Sparks flew as Max's sword met Captain America's shield, the sheer force of Max's strike causing Cap to dig his heels into the ground to stay upright.
Max's eyes gleamed with amusement. "Impressive, but let's see how long you can hold out."
Captain America grit his teeth, pushing back against the overwhelming force. "You're going to have to try harder than that."
Captain pushed back as Max grinned, but suddenly, Captain shouted, "Now!"
Whoosh!
The sound of something slicing through the air rang in Max's ears. He quickly kicked Captain back and leaned to the side, narrowly avoiding an arrow that shot past the spot where his head had been just milliseconds before.
Max glanced at the source and then at the arrow. A stun arrow.
Lucky you, Max thought, noticing it was only a non-lethal taser arrow. If that had been meant to kill, you would've been in real trouble.
Meanwhile, Captain America quickly recovered and hurled his shield at Max. Max caught the shield mid-air, gripping it tightly as his hand began to crush it. Cracks started to form along the edge of the once "unbreakable" Vibranium shield.
"It seems it wasn't as unbreakable as they said," Max remarked, before breaking the shield into pieces with a sharp snap.
In the eyes of Captain America, Hawkeye, and Black Widow, shock and disbelief took over as they watched Max destroy the iconic Vibranium shield—an object they believed to be indestructible. Their eyes widened in horror.
"I tried to let go of your SHIELD," Max said, his tone threatening. "And focus on the real target—HYDRA. But since you're still pestering me, I guess I'll have to pay SHIELD a visit too."
Captain remained silent, staring at the broken shards of his shield. His grip tightened, his face full of frustration and disbelief.
"What… are you?" Captain asked, his voice filled with confusion and anger.
"Max Ryder," Max replied coldly, stepping forward. "There's nothing else you need to know."
Black Widow, hidden in the shadows, glanced at Hawkeye. "He's dangerous," she muttered under her breath, already preparing for the worst.
Without warning, Max appeared directly in front of her. "Hey!" she gasped, almost having a heart attack as she looked up to find Max gripping her collar.
With a simple flick, he tossed her toward Captain America, sending her sliding across the ground.
"I'll say this one last time—it was HYDRA. If you don't believe me, just check your precious SHIELD. You'll find the proof there," Max said, glaring at them. "Or next time, it won't just be a Vibranium shield that gets destroyed."
Max turned his back to them, walking away without looking back.
Captain America, Black Widow, and Hawkeye exchanged tense glances, unsure of what to do. Max had shown them just how powerful he truly was, and now, a seed of doubt was planted in their minds.
As Max disappeared from view, Captain clenched his fists, his mind racing with questions. Hydra? Inside SHIELD? He needed answers, but now he was questioning everything.
"We need to dig deeper," Widow said softly, her voice full of tension. "We can't ignore what he said."
Captain looked down at the shattered pieces of his shield, the symbol of protection that now lay broken in his hands. He nodded grimly. "Let's find out the truth."
Hawkeye came to him as he nodded and give him a bag " Let's pick the shards, maybe SHIELD would be able to fix it back"
Captain nodded as he silently picked the pieces of his shield, "haah! I thought it was unbreakable" he mumbled to himself.
"It was but he broke it" Widow said, "I think he is not our enemy or we would have died by now" She added.
Hawkeye nodded, "yes, he is too strong, we need someone like him to even have the chance to defeat him"
Captain nodded as he said "we are retreating"
