The moment Max tore the ticket, the world around him froze. The fish in his aquarium, mid-feeding, hung motionless, its mouth open in front of its prey. The eerie stillness was broken only by the System's notification.
[Congratulations on your second world travel.]
[You now have the option to choose between two methods of transmigration.]
The usual transmigration.
Reincarnation: Starting anew without your current powers, but Host may carry one chosen ability into the new life.
Max raised an eyebrow. "What's the advantage of starting fresh?" he asked.
The System responded promptly.
[Using the reincarnation method grants the following benefits:]
Host will gain a new trait depending on the body Host enters in the new world.
Host will copy all abilities and traits of the body being reincarnated into.
Max stroked his chin thoughtfully. "A new trait and the chance to take on someone else's powers, huh? That's interesting. But giving up my current strength... risky."
The System added:
[Host can carefully choose which single ability to carry over to ensure survival and integration.]
Max leaned back, weighing his options. "I'll have to think this through carefully," he muttered, a glint of excitement in his eyes.
"Hmm, in Solo Leveling there are the Monarchs, and I could potentially steal their powers if I take this new skill of mine with me," he mumbled, considering the ultimate skill Azi-Dahaka.
"Alright, I'll choose reincarnation," he said firmly.
The System confirmed his choice.
[Reincarnation selected. Preparing transfer...]
Suddenly, Max felt his soul being pushed out of his body. A dark rift appeared, pulling him inside. The blackness consumed him, and for a while, he couldn't feel anything at all.
"Hey man, are you alright?"
"Brian, you idiot, why'd you hit him?"
"I... it was an accident! I was just showing off my Hunter powers!"
"Let's get him to the hospital!"
"Yeah!"
Max barely registered the voices around him as he drifted in and out of consciousness. His body felt heavy, and his mind was clouded. The next thing he knew, he blacked out again.
When he opened his eyes, he found himself lying in a hospital bed. A sterile smell filled the air, and he could feel bandages on his head. Machines beeped softly nearby.
"Where... am I?" he muttered, his voice hoarse.
Two guys were sitting on a bench near his bed, nervously glancing at him. One of them stood up and approached.
"Uh, hey... You're awake! That's great!" the guy said, scratching the back of his head awkwardly.
Max's mind raced as he tried to process the situation. Reincarnation... right. Did I end up in the Solo Leveling world? He glanced at the two men and noticed something strange. One of them had a faint aura around him—the kind he could sense using his Azi-Dahaka skill.
Hunters... Interesting.
Max smirked inwardly. It seemed like his journey in this new world was already off to an intriguing start.
"I'm sorry, man," said a guy with blonde hair and brown eyes. He had a hulking build and looked at Max with genuine concern.
"I'm fine," Max replied calmly.
The guy nodded in relief. "Fortunately, you're right," said Brian, the hulking one.
The other guy, who had a leaner build and a punk style with piercings and dyed hair, let out a sigh of relief as well. "Phew, I almost thought we three buddies would end up with two funerals," he said nervously.
"Can you guys give me some space?" Max said, gesturing for them to leave as he adjusted the hospital blanket over himself.
The two hesitated but eventually nodded. "Alright, man, we'll step out for a bit. Get some rest," Brian said before they exited the room.
Once alone, Max let out a breath and thought, System, give me my memories.
The System responded immediately, flooding his mind with the memories of his new body.
It turned out the original owner of this body, named Matt, was a promising individual. Unfortunately, he had been beaten up by his best friend in a freak accident, ending up in a coma. He had missed significant world-changing events while unconscious and, tragically, had died in this timeline.
"So, my name is Matt now, huh?" Max muttered, glancing down at his hands, which now belonged to someone else. "Let's see what else I've got here. Status Screen."
A translucent panel appeared before him.

Max stared at the screen, his eyes narrowing. "Sword of Golden Execution? An Ex-Class Trait? Well, well... Looks like this body's got some serious hidden potential," he mused, his smirk returning.
