THE SECRET ROOM

ISABELLA

His last word kept echoing in my head, I so badly can't wait for today to be over already before it even started.

Like he had said the night air was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Bullets rained down on us from multiple directions, and I felt a scream rising in my throat.

The man behind the wheel expertly maneuvered the vehicle, dodging and weaving through the hail of gunfire.

I grabbed onto the door handle, my knuckles white with fear. Lorenzo's eyes flicked toward the rearview mirror, and I followed his gaze.

Pursuing vehicles were hot on our heels, their headlights casting an eerie glow on the dark road.

My voice trembled as I asked, "Do you trust your driver?" I couldn't help but ask, I might not be into this but he looks suspicious and my instincts are never wrong.
