Chapter 104 – Antonia: All Women Who Walk on Two Legs Are Enemies!

The image was of herself, dressed in a red bikini that highlighted her curvy figure and flawless skin. It was eye-catching and undeniably alluring, captivating viewers instantly. Next to her, Spider-Man's vague, shadowy silhouette was visible but not entirely clear.

The post had garnered over half a million views and counting.

Antonia frowned as she scrolled through the comments, already numbering over 10,000 in such a short span.

"What kind of costume is this? My brother's jaw dropped!"

"Scandalous outfit!"

"Is it your brother, or are you just blaming him? Be honest, lying is worse!"

"Del, I saw your comment. Better log out and clear your history before your wife sees this."

Del: "Sorry, I don't know you."

(Del has deleted his account.)

Antonia's frown deepened as she continued reading the flood of reactions.

"Spider-Man's living the dream, hanging out with a gorgeous woman in the woods at night."

"Is that Spider-Man? He looks blurry."

Antonia let out an annoyed "click" as she tossed the tablet aside, only to pick it up again and examine the photo once more.

"Wow, I really do look stunning from every angle," she remarked, speaking into the phone.

The voice on the other end belonged to her housekeeper, Collins, who coughed awkwardly at her comment. "You're certainly becoming a public sensation, Miss Aguilar."

"What does that even mean?" Antonia, who wasn't well-versed in social media, asked innocently.

"It means you're famous."

Antonia stretched languidly. "I don't want fame. I'm the Daughter of the Night; I live in shadows, unseen."

"Yes, Miss. But fame brings its challenges."

While Antonia hadn't yet faced the consequences, Peter Parker was already feeling the heat.

The Next Morning

"Peter Parker, congratulations—you're now a headline act!"

In the classroom, the English teacher was discussing Animal Farm.

"It's a masterpiece—both fiction and allegory. Gwen, maybe you can tell us why it's also considered a fable?"

Caught off guard, Gwen Stacy looked up from her phone, where she was texting Peter. She stammered, "Uh… sorry, I'm not sure."

"Alright," the teacher pressed on, "then can you tell us which of the Seven Commandments is painted on the barn wall?"

Gwen flushed. She hadn't finished the book, distracted by recent events. After an awkward pause, the teacher moved on, leaving Gwen frustrated.

Later, Gwen found herself on the rooftop, flipping through the book to finally uncover the line: "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."

"It doesn't matter now," she muttered, knowing the moment had passed.

Later, Gwen confronted Peter.

"Peter, look at this!" she exclaimed, shoving her phone in his face. The image of Antonia Aguilar was displayed prominently.

Peter glanced at the photo, feigning ignorance. "What about it?"

"That's you in the background! Who is she?" Gwen's tone betrayed her annoyance.

Peter sighed. "I ran into her last night at the state park. She's… not exactly ordinary."

"Not ordinary? Like… a mutant?" Gwen asked, narrowing her eyes.

"No, more like… a vampire."

Gwen blinked. "Are you serious right now? Vampires are real?"

"Considering everything else we've faced, is it so hard to believe?"

Gwen frowned, studying the picture again. "She's gorgeous. Her eyes… it's like they're hypnotic."

Peter didn't respond, the class bell saving him from further questioning.

Later That Evening

Gwen invited Peter to watch The Mary Janes rehearse.

"One, two, three, four!" The drumbeat kicked in, followed by Glory's vocals:

"Baby, baby, slow down, stop running through the city!"

"You can't refuse me, take me with you, or you'll lose me."

Peter listened, puzzled by the lyrics. They seemed oddly personal, almost like they were directed at him.

After rehearsal, Gwen walked home with Peter. "What did you think of the song?"

"It's… unique."

Gwen hesitated, wanting to admit the lyrics were inspired by her feelings for him, but she held back.

In the Shadows

In a nearby alley, a woman wandered alone, clearly lost. Her steps faltered as the dim streetlights flickered ominously.

"Hello? Is anyone there?" she called nervously.

From the darkness, a pale figure emerged, its face eerily devoid of life.

She barely had time to scream before the shadow lunged at her.

Back on the main street, Gwen froze, her heightened senses picking up the faint cry.

"Did you hear that?" she asked Peter urgently.

Peter nodded, already alert. "Let's go."
