Chapter 7

Trystan explained, "I didn't know what you liked, so I picked up a little of everything." Abby giggled and let Trystan guide her out of the gas station. As they approached the car, Abby said, "Thank you, Trystan. You could have just texted me asking me what I would like, but you wanted to take a guess."

Trystan smiled and opened the door for Abby again, making her blush as she got inside. He started the engine and drove to his house, chatting with Abby along the way. They discussed their favorite foods, animals, and movies, getting to know each other better.

As they sat in the driveway, Abby glanced at her phone and saw a message from her dad.

Abby read her dad's message, "Grandma told me about tonight. Have fun, and don't do anything I wouldn't do." She rolled her eyes, thinking, "There's nothing you wouldn't do, Dad." Abby put her phone away and turned to Trystan, "Come on. It's already 5 o'clock. We need to study and get you caught up."

As she stepped out of the car, Trystan emerged slowly, his eyes fixed on hers with an intense, dark gaze. Abby felt a shiver run down her spine, but she tried to brush it off, saying, "Come on, Trystan; we need to study." She walked towards his house, but Trystan lagged behind, his eyes never leaving hers. He eventually caught up, his gaze still piercing.

Trystan's lips crashed against Abby's, his kiss deep and passionate. Abby's knees weakened, her breath catching in her throat. She pushed back, blushing, and looked away. Trystan whispered, "There's more where that came from."

Abby's voice trembled, "I would like to build a friendship first before jumping into anything, but we will see where the night takes us. Come on; we have to study." She gently pulled her arm away, and Trystan sighed, his dark gaze lingering.

He led her to the front door, opening it with a gesture, "After you."

As Abby entered Trystan's home, she was greeted by his parents, Mike and Sarah. Mike, with his jet black hair and perfect features, extended his hand for a handshake, smiling warmly. "Hello and welcome. It's so nice to meet you. I'm Mike, and this beautiful lady standing next to me is my wife, Sarah." Abby felt embarrassed, thinking they looked too perfect for her.

She smiled and shook Mike's hand, saying, "Nice to meet you both also. Thank you for having me in your beautiful home." Mike and Sarah smiled and walked away, giving Trystan a nod. Trystan took Abby's hand and guided her up the stairs to his room. The room was dark at first, and Abby couldn't make out all the details.

As Trystan turned on the lights, Abby saw a massive but empty room. The only furniture was a solid oak dresser, a large flat-screen TV, a desk, and a king-sized bed with one nightstand. The room was spotless, with no trash or clothes on the floor, and no paint on the walls. It looked like no one had lived there for a while.

They sat at the desk to start their homework. Hours passed before Abby asked, "So why did you move?" Trystan turned to face her, his expression serious. "The family needed a fresh start where no one knew us." Abby sensed something deeper and opened her mouth to ask more, but Trystan's angry expression made her quickly close it and refocus on her homework.

As Abby packed her things, Trystan stopped her, saying, "Where do you think you're going? You're staying here tonight. I need a lot of help getting caught up." Abby's confusion turned to panic as Trystan revealed, "Oh, but I did talk to your grandma about it. I asked her before going up into your brother's room. We just pretended to meet when you introduced us."

Abby's eyes widened as Trystan smirked proudly. She had never spent the night at a boy's house before, and this was all too much. She frantically searched for her phone to text her grandma, but then realized her grandma would likely be okay with it. Abby's panic turned to embarrassment and uncertainty.
