Funeral

-Damon White:

It was the next morning when I woke up in Dimitri's room.

I blinked, the soft rays of the sun streaming through the curtains.

My eyes took a moment to adjust, and as I shifted slightly, I felt what was left of the familiar warmth of Nikolai beside me.

He'd stayed the night, as he often did, curled up close to me.

He always had a way of making me feel grounded like I was where I was supposed to be.

But as much as I loved having him there, it was always a bit of a bittersweet feeling.

When morning came, he'd slip away back to Alexei's room to sleep with him while Dimitri slept with me, as was their routine.

I understood, though.

Nikolai was connected to both of us if Dimitri is here, he can not just let Alexei be all alone when the three of us are here.

I had come to accept the fact that Nikolai had two other mates, besides me.
