Guilia POV:
It was pathetic the way Daddy was so hellbent on getting Arianna back. Forcing me to stalk the thief, I had tolerated her presence when she doted on me as her long-lost sister. I expected nothing less, but then she had to go and ruin everything by siding with that numbskull. What was worse is Daddy was sure they had fallen for each other, there was no way he would fall for my sister and not me. Why did everybody worship the ground she walked on?
I sighed as I went through the sales racks trying to distract myself as far as my father knew I was out and about trying to "run in" to my sister, but honestly, what was the point? If she wanted to tie herself to a burning ship let her, Giovanni would crash and burn we all knew it. He was still angry about his brother, even though he was the fool who docked at some random port. If you're in the import export business you should really do your research.
I sighed texting Marco, the one thing he refused to give up was my sister's location I didn't want to go back to my Dad empty handed. He was already way to angry I wasn't gonna return with shopping bags and no dirt.
I knew where I could go, but that was a suicide mission, even if the bitch had the fabric for my dress there. So what if that tailor was doing it for free? There were perks to your father owning half the city, a bonus for not letting his goons trash that little shop. It was perfectly acceptable to get what I wanted free of charge, I had to marry the big oaf who had no personality.
At least he adored me, most women didn't even get that. He was in line to inherit all of Giovanni's business when Giovanni inevitably bit the dust, and then I would graciously hand over the keys to the kingdom after my husband's untimely death. I was thinking of heartbroken suicide, but was that too obvious? Not like the cops would look too far into it, we knew how to make them behave. Half of them were on the payroll, and half of them knew what would happen if they didn't cooperate.
I tapped the back of my phone with my nails waiting for a response and trying to find something cute. I grumbled as the clothes looked worse and worse as I kept going.
"Ugh!" I threw my phone into my bag and walked out back to my car.
First, it was annoying that Daddy was clearly prioritizing her, then, making me do the dirty work of getting her alone, and now even Marco wasn't listening!
Fine, fine, fine. If I was going to have to do this I was going to get it over with. I got into my car and headed over to the south side of the city and worked by his office building. I checked the clock, four o'clock. Daddy better be proud of my patience. I waited and waited shopping on my phone and looking at different dresses for the wedding. I definitely wanted a champagne wall but I also wanted a flower wall I didn't know if I wanted to combine them.
I got so wrapped up in wedding ideas I almost missed them exiting their building. Laughing like old friends his hand on her back! I took a photo to show Daddy and then got out of my car.
"Arianna!" I waved over to her and her face fell, yeah well same to you.
I plastered a smile over my face and a shine in my eyes as I jostled over to them. "Hey, I've missed you!" I walked up to her pretending as if nothing was wrong. "Look I need you for bridesmaid dress shopping when are you available?"
She clenched tightly and got into the open car door not acknowledging me.
I blanked the way she looked at me, her breathing slowed into hot breaths as she stared at me her hands clenched at her sides, red hot fire lingering in her eyes.… Okay so maybe she did know. This might be harder getting her alone, she worshipped mommy dearest like the woman was a saint. Do saints leave their youngest child and run off into the night? Do saints abandon their families? You can't pick and choose your children. The bitch got what she deserved.
I stepped to get closer to her but then this bug fluffy ball of muck got in my way. "Uck!" I shrieked as the dog growled at me.
"Shoo!" I waved it off but it stepped closer.
"Peanut!" Arianna called the fleabag. The oversized drool factory stepped back and got into the car, one of Giovanni's goons closed the car door behind them and the car sped off.
I looked over at the man in charge pulling my smile off my face and glaring at him. "You can't keep her safe forever," I told him.
He smirked and stepped closer. "It would take someone of conviction and precision to stop me now, and you have none of those things," He laughed at me I wanted to smack him. "What did you think? you would happen she would mindlessly wander off with you to be taken back to Daddy?"
Another of his cars pulled up and then another, he wouldn't be stupid enough to take me hostage but still, I eyed the men who got out of the car. I shuffled back and composed myself shaking my hair back and clasping my phone. I forced myself to look at him indignantly.
"She sees you as you are now, I would run and hide before the light catches up to you," He warned me.
"I wouldn't worry. We've survived so far, and a little girl isn't going to tear us apart,"
He stepped closer. "You are a girl," he stepped back and got into the car zooming off.
What did that mean?
I walked back to my car unsure of where to go from here. I had gotten eyes on her and I knew she spent her days at his office now, but that look she gave me. It stayed in my mind for a second and a shiver went up my spine. She would have killed me if he wasn't there.
Heat swirled in my belly and I gripped the steering wheel of my car and smacked it shrieking at the audacity of her. She got everything, she got to be mommy's little princess, she got Giovanni wrapped around her finger, she had Dad's faith. She thought she got to be upset with me for what? I didn't pull the trigger, I didn't beat her black and blue.
Fine, she wants to blame me for our mother's stupid choices go ahead, but I will get this done. I'm going to show her and Daddy what I'm really capable of. I have the conviction needed to do this! I sped off to go and find my fiance, enough of the silent treatment I needed some dirty work done.
