Checking the 10x Exchange System
I woke up with a headache and started questioning my surroundings.
"Did I finally reincarnate? Or... is my life truly over?" I wondered, when suddenly, a blue screen popped up in front of me.

Then, the blue screen vanished.
"What's happening? Who am I? Where am I?" I muttered, trying to make sense of my environment.
I glanced down at my body and realized I was frail, with blood staining the bed sheets. "Great, another broken body. Just my luck," I thought, sighing as memories of the struggles in my first life flashed through my mind.
"Did the previous owner of this body die, or did I take it over?" I wondered. Then, my thoughts shifted to the blue screen. "Could this be the result of consuming the Obsidian Codex?" It had always struck me as odd that everyone in the sect wanted it so badly. Thankfully, I had listened to her advice and kept it close.
Finally, I spoke aloud: "System."
Another blue screen appeared.

Curious, I waved my hand through the screen to check if it was tangible. When my hand passed through it, I realized it wasn't. Confused, I figured if speaking summoned the screen, then maybe speaking could select the tabs too.

"Of course, just my luck. How am I supposed to cultivate now? Hopefully, the system gives me something useful."
Next, I said, "Quests/Mission Log."

Spend 1 low-grade spirit stone on a Qi Gathering Pill.
Reward: Choose between the Time Spirit Root or Chaotic Spiritual Root.

Reward: +1 point to Strength, Agility, Endurance, Vitality, and 20 system points.
I breathed a sigh of relief. "All I have to do is spend one low-grade spirit stone, and I get a spirit root. Not bad. But I wonder what these roots actually do..."
I was also relieved to see there didn't seem to be any punishments for not completing quests. Hopefully, that would remain the case.
Before exploring my situation any further, I decided to finish checking out the system. "Rewards," I said.

Starting from scratch again stung, especially considering how hard it was to rise my sect to the number-one spot in my first life. Without that cultivation technique, it would've been impossible.
Curious, I checked the system shop. "System Shop," I said.

Then I saw some familiar items.

"Why are the spirit roots so ridiculously expensive compared to dragon blood?" I was perplexed. Just how rare must these spirit roots be?
I filtered the shop to see cheaper options. "System, show items under 100 system points."
The results changed drastically.

Minor Qi Restoration Pill: 10 system points
Cloth Armor: 60 system points
I looked through the options for about ten minutes. "The Minor Qi Restoration Pill seems like my best choice right now. I feel fine, but it's like my body could collapse with one wrong move."
"System, buy the Minor Qi Restoration Pill."

"Yes."

"Oh, it didn't just appear in my hands? That's disappointing."
I glanced around. The room was in bad shape—cracks lined the walls and floor, and no one had checked in on me for hours.
Satisfied that I was alone, I decided to use the pill.
I opened the inventory and saw 50 boxes, 49 of them empty. One box contained the pill.
"System, give me the Minor Qi Restoration Pill."
To my delight, the pill materialized in my hand. I took it, and a warm sensation spread through my chest. I felt power flow through my body, as though something broken was finally healing. For the first time since waking up, I felt whole again.
