Chapter 9:Do you think I'm on the right side?

Playing elegantly beneath the pale moonlight for a few minutes, Lumiere's brother finally fell asleep.

"Finally he's asleep. Ah it still hurts... first I'll put him to bed."

Lumiere then carried his brother inside and put him to bed. After putting him to bed he came outside to take some fresh air.

As soon as he stepped outside the door, a scary voice spoked up.

"You brat you never learned have you!"

"You always bring shame on our family!"

It's big brother's... Well let's ride his trick.

"Who's there?" Lumiere said with a trembling voice.

His body begun to shake and his eyes became watery. A perfect act indeed.

With his hand hidden on his sleeve, Lumiere casted a wind spell so that the curtain inside will move like a ghost towards his brother.

The curtain moved towards the tree of apple and Aki yelled like a maiden.

"Pfft hahahahaha! " Lumiere burst out of laughter.

"hilarious if you just saw your reaction hahahahaha "

"Lumiere you silly! How dare you cast spell and make the curtain like a ghost !" Idk cried.

"Crowned prince of Blood moon empire! A great exorcist and the next King!" Lumiere said with enthusiastic voice. After that his voice dropped into a gloomy as he says," but scared of a ghost. "

Of course hearing that, Aki will be mad. But sure he couldn't afford to get lose!

"Heh at least I'm not afraid to dogs. " he said!

Hearing that Lumiere went silent. He couldn't argue with that because it was true.

Damn... I can't say anything with that...

"So what did you do this time?" Aki said

"It's none of your business!" Lumiere said.

Hearing that Aki's blood boiled and slaps Lumiere's wound on his back.

"Ah! big brother that hurts!" Lumiere cried.

Lumiere sat down in front of the door and said,

Seeing that, Lumiere cracked a laugh.

"Ahahah see? you're worried about me. just why don't you just admit it?"

"You-" Aki was about to hit Lumiere again but he took it back midway . seeing Lumiere's state, he doesn't seem to be pretending.

" Sigh... At this rate you can still be a jest! " Said Aki as he taps Lumiere's wound lightly.

"Ah that really hurts!" Lumiere cried.

"Still playing violin even though you know that it's prohibited! Why don't you just play koto instead? You're good at it after all"

"yes I indeed am good at playing koto, but Yuki was already used to my violin. he can't sleep without me playing him his favorite melody. "Lumiere Cecil, looks like you're enjoying my class aren't you?"

"Enjoying? ah Yes of course I am. I love to listen to grandmaster's discussion" Lumiere sneered.

"Then since you are really enjoying my lectures, Can you say to the whole class on why our sword become unique from the other weapon?" Tge grandmaster asked.

"Because our weapon is the only thing can eliminate evil spirits, wicked creatures,demons and vampires. It was blessed by the moon goddess. We use incantation to transmit energy to the weapon so the effect will be stronger. " said Lumiere.

"very well " the grandmaster said.

How basic,even Yuki can answer that question.

"Then Lumi tell me what will you do if you notice that a person is a vampire?"

What kind of questions are these? He's asking the most basic.

"Be alert, observe his actions. Hide your identity as long as possible so they won't run away. Don't let your guard down. ensure the safety of the people around you." Lumiere answered nonchalantly.

The grandmaster cut off their conversation.

"Ryu you can sit now"

The grandmaster came close to Lumiere.

"No that's not my point. If you come to think of it if vampires only live by devouring only human blood ,then many vampires has already died from starvation."said Lumiere.

A student commented.

"Also I heard that vampires once became friends with us . They once a good person"

Hearing that, the grandmaste's expression changed into bitter.

"You ! Where did you -?!"

"Isn't that true?" Lumiere asked.

The students begins to murmur.

"What?"

"Is it true?"

"Lumiere is spouting nonsense again "

" it makes sense though "

"Sigh"

"Do I really always have to remind you guys about your manners?" Aki said and so the room fell silent.

Lumiere and the Grandmaster continue their conversation..

"Then tell me do you have any option than killing them?" The grandmaster asked.

He avoided the question. Anyway,

" Yes I have. " Lumiere said nonchalantly.

" Then what is it? " The grandmaster asked.

"Exorcising " said Lumiere.

"What?"

"Pardon second Lord but Vampires aren't possessed by evil spirit." A student said.

"No they are ." Lumiere said nonchalantly.

Hearing that, the grandmaster's face became distorted. His brows drew as he tries to maintain his calmness.

"Well it's not actually an evil spirit but I think it's even more than that." Lumiere said.

"What? How can you say so?" Ryu questioned with disbelief.

"Hmm.. let me ask this . How's a person who is possessed by an evil spirit act?" Lumiere said.

"They act like they're not their usual self , they hurt anyone and acts like a mad dog. Also a you can easily tell if a person is possessed by an evil spirit if they have an evil mark " Ryu said.

"Exactly!"

"Huh ?"

"Do you guys spots the similarities?"Lumiere asked.

Shu raised his hand then spoke

"Um..Both vampires and an evil possessed person acts like mad dog and they hurt anyone.. also I find their marks quite similar "

The grandmaster speaks up.

"So you're saying that they're just possessed by some evil spirit so they're devouring humans?"

"Hmm wait I think possessed isn't the right word.. since it's been ages and the traces of the marks..hmm .. ah ! It's more likely a curse! " Lumiere replied.

Lumiere picks up a calligraphy then begun to draw as he speaks.

" if you combine the flower of higanbana and the mark of an evil spirit, it will look like the mark that the Vampires have."

"Wait.. the flower of higanbana is our emblem right? Then are you saying that one of the blood moon empire did cast that curse to vampires?" Shu said.

Lumiere looks at him then smiled

"!... Wait the flower was red ! Our emblem's flower was blue! Then that means the blood moon goddess?!"-shu

The teacher slammed The desk then throws a book on Lumi

"Eak!"

"You disrespectful brat ! How could you say such a thing to the blood moon goddess!"

The teacher continue to throw things to Lumi as he talks

"Eh.. t.. teacher stop!"

"Where all the things that I've taught to you!"

"Aren't I am using it already? Observation, knowledge, et-"

"You-! Go kneel infront of our principles! Read it 345 times! And Ryu prepare the whip!"

"What?! I didn't do anything wrong! I'm just telling the truth!"Lumiere cried.

"The truth?! Again?! You brat have you ever learned?! Last time you got kicked out from my class and got whipped ,because you said that playing violin isn't wrong! And now you are accusing the blood moon goddess! Just what do you take our principles for?! How could you be so disrespectful!"

"And what? Exorcising vampires? What if you fail ? You're just risking the life of the people around you!"

"We won't know till we try . With all of my respect can grandmaster allow me to exorcise a vampire right here right now?" Lumiere said with a nonchalant tone.

"No one will be harmed here . Everyone can defend themselves "

Hearing that, the grandmaster became silent.

"He's right! "

"Sigh.. alright I'll let you do what you want(I also want to know if exorcism will work )"

The grandmaster summons a cursed vampire

"Go exorcise this vampire if you can "

The students begun to chatter again

"Eh is this for real ? "

"I can't believe grandmaster really is allowing this ."

Lumiere begins to do the exorcism prayer but while doing the prayer Lumi heard the same voice and Begins to see some random images again . He continues to do the prayer and as he continues the prayer The voices begins to say same chant again.

This again? Why does everytime I'm trying to exorcise a vampire this always happens?!

"Lumiere Lumiere " the voices called out his name. "Do it! Do it !"

As he continue the prayer evil energy begins to surround him. A faint mark of a flower suddenly showed up on his neck

"Lumi!"

"Lumiere save us! Blood moon goddess!"

"Lumi!" The crown prince held his hand to make him stop "Lumiere!"

The grandmaster immediately killed the vampire

Lumiere was sweating furiously "...Big brother..!? Eh why did you kill the vampire?!"

The faint mark was slowly disappearing "(aw... It hurts... Just what the heck is wrong with my neck it felt like it was burnt)"

"Eh what happened? Why did the grandmaster killed the vampire?"

"Did the exorcism went wrong?"

"Lumiere Cecil come with me"said the grandmaster.

"Hey did you saw Lumi's neck earlier ?"

"Yeah "

"Everything that happened here will just remain here "

"Y..yes grandmaster"the students replied

Lumiere and the Grandmaster left. after a half hour, they come back and the Grandmaster madly say...

"Ryu, whip him 100 times infront of our clan's principle "

"!? .. Pardon?"

"Do as I said!"

"Lumi.."

Lumiere left along with idk to go in front of their clan's principles.

Right after that, the grandmaster fixed his composure. He cleared his throat and said,

"Last time I couldn't managed to announce about the results of our ghost hunt because of that brat Lumiere Cecil. And now again he made another ruckus, but the announcement couldn't be delayed anymore. Tomorrow will be a big day because of the God festival. I will now announce the top 5 results."

The grandmaster then, summoned a scroll from his hand.

"At fifth place we have Shu from house of Mori has exorcised and eliminate 34 spirits in total "

"woah that's amazing he managed to exorcise and eliminate 34 spirits in total "

"fourth place we have Ryu from house of Ryuzaki has exorcised and eliminate 35 spirits in total "

"woah amazing they only have small difference."

"yeah ..you know exorcising a wicked spirit is hard "

"Yeah indeed.. I barely exorcise 5 spirits .. they're so amazing.."

"Yeah"

"third place we have Seth from house of Cecil has exorcised and eliminate 40 spirits in total "

"Woah.."

"Amazing.. sigh I envy them .."

"The second place we have Aki from the house of Cecil.. has exorcised and eliminate 60 spirits in total "

"Woah as expected from the crown prince 60 spirits in total.. that's amazing "

Suddenly upon reading the scroll, the grandmaster's face became sour to the point that you can't paint it.

Seeing that, the students became confused.

After pausing for a while the grandmaster then cleared his throat and tried to prevent his brows meeting together as he read the first place.

"Lumiere from the house of Cecil exorcised and eliminated a total of 100 spirits "

All of the students was amazed.

" woah 100 spirits in total! That's indeed historical! " Someone commented and followed by others.

"Lumiere really is amazing!*"

"Indeed! he got a better score than the crown prince."

"Yeah but the only problem is he's a trouble maker."

" Hmph. " The crowned prince then left the crowds.

Clothes were tore and tainted with blood. Lumiere was kneeling in front of their principles as he whines.

"Tch! That old hog! Don't he feel pity for me?! I'm his own grandson! ah... my toes and knees feel so numb! my back hurts!"

Suddenly, a soft and soothing voice spoked up.

"Sigh... my Lord are you alright? "

Lumiere's butler the cast a healing spell to heal Lumiere's wound.

Lumiere then told to his servant everything what happened.

Hearing that, Seth was about to answered when they heard a loud and scary growl.

Turns out that Lumiere is just hungry.

Lumi's butler smiled at him then he took the apple from the tree near them

"Here eat some apple.."

"Am I allowed?"Lumiere

"They didn't said that you are prohibited."idk said.

Hearing that, Lumiere chuckled.

"Ni-ni feed me ah" Lumiere said with a childish tone.

Idk was about to fed the apple to Lumiere when it was suddenly blown by a strong wind strike.

"Lumiere Cecil, stop acting like a child in front your servant just how old are you?Don't you have both hands?" A familiar voice spoked up.

" I've heard that 87th times this year. " Lumiere said.

" And this is the 207th time you acted childish in front of your servant this year. "Aki said

"Hmph you're just jealous!" Lumiere sneered.

Hearing that, Aki's face color became red.

"Why would I?!" Aki said.

Lumiere reflected immediately. From his kneeling position, he immediately get up and stepped backwards. He draw his sword and blocked idk's attack.

Lumiere immediately gained his position and attacked Aki's back. He thrusts his sword towards aki, but Aki manage to evade it.

Suddenly, 4 Lords from other empire passed by in the hallway and saw them fighting.

"Who are those?" Long ears black hair, flowery mark on cheeks and beautiful golden eyes. Eir paused and observe the two brothers fighting each other.

"Wait... I think it's the heir. But wh is he fighting to?" Eir said, but before he could even finished his words, Zara and Hana yelled in thrill.

"Ahh! It's the Second Lord Cecil! He's so handsome and graceful while fighting!" They said in unity.

"Who's that?" Eir said.

"Wait you don't know?!" Zara and Hana said again with unity.

Eir just shook his head and looked at Aureus.

"Don't look at me." Aureus said.

"Sigh... Eir, Eir, you really know nothing about blood moon's empire. Well you don't care about others anyway because of your narcissism." Zara said as she shakes her head.

" Second Lord Cecil..." Zara paused

"He is the beauty of the blood moon's empire! " the three of them said in unity.

" Aureus too?! " Eir was surprised.
