SHE CHEATED ON ME

Russell quietly walked into his granddaughter’s room. His heart broke on seeing Scarlett.

She looked frail and vulnerable. Her eyes were swollen and red due to long hours of crying.

Scarlett sniffed and walked back to her bed, curling herself up in a ball.

She hadn’t turned on the lights in her room, it was just the light that shone from the moon that gave light.

The view Russell was looking at was pitiful, sad and lonely.

He hated seeing his granddaughter this way. Her happiness was his happiness.

Her joy was his joy too. In all the time Scarlett had begun living with him, he had make sure she had no reason to cry.

He gave her all that she needed and wanted even before she could ask for it.

Russell was not okay with Scarlett being the way she currently was.

“Who is it?” He asked simply, sitting next to Scarlett.

Scarlett shook her head.

“I know it’s somebody. Do you want me to find out myself or you tell me?” He asked again, stroking Scarlett’s hair gently.
