OLD FEELINGS, NEW REALITIES

“Mr. Quin!”

Natalie’s sharp voice cut through Leo’s thoughts like a knife. He blinked, quickly snapping out of his daze. Ari’s car was already out of sight, but his mind had been trailing after her, lost in the past.

“Sorry, I—uh, I was just thinking,” Leo mumbled, trying to cover the awkward pause. He gave her a sheepish smile, though it did little to hide his embarrassment.

Natalie’s expression softened slightly, but her impatience was clear. “It’s been a long day for all of us, Mr. Quin. Let’s get this wrapped up.”

Leo nodded, standing a little straighter. He couldn’t afford to keep zoning out. This was important—his entire future was tied to this new position at Reid Enterprises. He needed to focus. Natalie quickly outlined the necessary steps for his relocation to London, the paperwork, and when to report for his new role. Everything was handled with cold efficiency, and though Leo wanted to ask about Ari, he didn’t dare.
