Daniel’s temporary room, Everstone manor, June 5th, 8:30 A.M
Daniel was using the phone in his room. He knew Alissa’s number since it was in every letter that she sent him.
“Hello?” Alissa answered on the other end in a faux New Orleans accent.
“There’s no need to do that, Alissa.” Daniel said. “I’m no threat to you.”
“Oh, it’s you.” She said in her normal voice. “I thought you might have been somebody else. My landline doesn’t have call recognition, and even if it did, I wouldn’t have known it was you until you called me.”
“Well, there is something we need to discuss, and I’d like to include Alan Detimis in on the conversation. You wouldn’t mind joining me at his house?” Daniel asked.
“Is this all about that business that went down seven years ago?” Alissa remarked in a tone that sounded like she had a heavy pain in her heart. Daniel didn’t really want to make Alissa hurt, but he wanted to find answers. “I'll try my best to hold up.”
