Chapter 137: The Unseen Threat

The atmosphere in the house had shifted dramatically since they read Darren's note. Luca paced the living room, his mind racing with what it all meant. Ethan sat on the couch, his expression contemplative as he stared out the window, deep in thought.

"What if he really is watching us?" Luca asked, worry evident in his voice. "What if he's already made plans?"

Ethan turned to him, determination etched on his features. "We can't let fear control us. We need to be smart about this."

Just then, the sound of a car pulling into their driveway caught their attention. Luca's heart raced. "What if it's him?"

Ethan quickly moved to the window, peering through the blinds. "It's not Darren. It's just a delivery truck." He sighed, relaxing slightly.

Luca's shoulders slumped, a mix of relief and frustration coursing through him. "I just… I hate feeling like a prisoner in my own home."

Ethan moved to him, wrapping his arms around Luca's waist. "You're not a prisoner. We'll figure this out together. But we need to stay alert."

Their moment of solace was interrupted when a loud knock echoed through the house. Both men froze, glancing at each other with wide eyes. Luca felt his heart drop into his stomach.

"Who could that be?" Luca whispered, dread settling in.

"Stay here," Ethan instructed, stepping away. "I'll check it out."

Luca watched anxiously as Ethan approached the door, every muscle in his body tense. As Ethan opened it, he was met by a delivery man holding a package.

"Delivery for Luca Scott," the man said, looking slightly confused. "Sign here, please."

Ethan took the clipboard, glancing back at Luca, who remained frozen in place.

"What is it?" Luca asked, his curiosity piqued.

"Just a package," Ethan replied, signing with a shaky hand.

The delivery man handed over the small box and left, but as Ethan turned to Luca, a frown crossed his face. "This wasn't ordered by us."

"What do you mean?" Luca moved closer, peering at the box, which bore a familiar insignia.

As Ethan opened it, a small flash drive fell out, and an envelope slid to the floor. Luca bent down to pick it up, his breath hitching as he read the contents.

Inside the envelope was a photo of Luca and Ethan, taken from a distance, with the words scrawled underneath: "You think you can hide?"

Luca felt the blood drain from his face, fear clawing at his insides. "This was taken recently! How…?"

Ethan's jaw clenched as he slid the flash drive into his laptop. "We need to see what's on this. It could be a warning… or something worse."

As the computer loaded, Luca's heart raced, panic threatening to overwhelm him. "What if it's something dangerous?"

Ethan shot him a reassuring look. "We'll face it together, no matter what it is."

The screen flickered to life, revealing a video file titled "For You." Ethan clicked it, and they both leaned in as the footage played.

Their faces paled as the screen filled with unsettling images of their home and their routines, Darren's voice echoing in the background. "You can't escape me, Luca. I will always be there."

The video ended, leaving an oppressive silence hanging in the air.

"We need to leave. Now." Luca's voice shook as the gravity of their situation sunk in.
