Michael looked down at the photograph in his hand—a grainy image of Victor shaking hands with a high-ranking government official. The caption, penned in Victor's unmistakable handwriting, hinted at bribes and backdoor deals. It was solid proof, but Michael couldn't shake the feeling that we were walking into a minefield.

 

"What about James?" he asked, breaking the momentary lull. "If we go public with this, he's going to escalate too. He's unpredictable, and now that he's tethered himself to Victor, we're fighting a war on two fronts."
