Late Night Thoughts

Late at night.

In the courtyard of the farm, at a traditional, antique desk, Ye Tian had yet to rest.

He was staring at the History of Douluo in his hand, his pupils dilated, deeply engrossed.

At that moment, a shadow flitted past the window.

The figure didn't enter the room but stood respectfully in the darkness outside the window, bowing slightly and cupping his hands:

"Young master, we've finished investigating. The Zhou family in East Sea City is stirring, colluding with the other three great families. In three days, they plan to take action against you."

"Scorpio Douluo has been informed of this.

Under Scorpio's command, I was sent to deliver a message: the Polaris Squad has already infiltrated East Sea City.

As long as you give the order, the four great families will fall!"

"Alright, I understand." Ye Tian snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the voice, replying indifferently.

In fact, he wasn't too concerned about the Zhou family's movements.

In his eyes, their actions were nothing more than the foolishness of clowns, akin to moths drawn to a flame.

The other three families were equally foolish for aligning with the Zhou family, thinking they could seize his assets.

Their greed, like a snake trying to swallow an elephant, did not take into account their own strength. Ye Tian didn't mind wiping out all four families of East Sea City.

For him, it was a trivial task.

The only concern was the potential reaction from the Spirit Hall.

If all four families were to fall simultaneously, it would certainly cause a stir in East Sea City, drawing the attention of the higher-ranking Spirit Hall.

This concern wasn't unwarranted.

Just this afternoon, the intelligence team led by Thirteen discovered scouts from the Spirit Hall operating near the farm.

Both in terms of cultivation and organizational ability, the opposing team was a highly skilled intelligence squad.

If Thirteen hadn't used modern surveillance techniques, they probably wouldn't have even noticed the other team's presence.

The fact that such a high-level intelligence squad was lurking along the coast of East Sea inevitably worried him that this action might invite greater trouble.

Ye Tian sighed softly, tapping his forehead. It was truly a headache.

The repercussions of dealing with the four great families wouldn't end there, as the security of East Sea City would also be affected.

The Tiance Army could intervene, disguising themselves as ordinary soldiers to maintain order.

But that would go against his original intention of keeping a low profile.

"Annoying!" Ye Tian frowned, slamming the book shut with a heavy thud.

He had only wanted to live a peaceful, secluded life in East Sea City, protecting his sister while avoiding unnecessary conflicts.

Yet, some people simply didn't know their place and blindly sought trouble.

His hands slowly clenched into fists, pounding the desk hard. Sometimes, if you don't hit hard, the enemy will never realize just how foolish their decisions were!

Ye Tian slowly raised his right hand, his sharp eyes staring out into the darkness beyond the window, and said firmly, emphasizing each word:

"Pass my order! At midnight tomorrow, wipe out the four great families!"

"As you command!"

A voice responded from the darkness, and then all was silent.

It was as if no one had ever been there, and no one had replied.

Ye Tian slowly stood up, walked over to the window, glanced at the bright night outside, and quietly drew the curtains.

It was late. Time to sleep.

In East Sea City, inside a hotel.

Chrysanthemum Yue Guan held a recently gathered intelligence report in his hand, his expression cold.

Or rather, his expression was always cold, but at this moment, there was an extra layer of frost.

"The families of the Spirit Hall in East Sea City are truly idiots! How dare they act so recklessly under the Pope's watch?"

The Holy Knight next to him bowed and said, "Your Grace, Lord Hu Liena sent word, instructing us not to interfere or reveal ourselves. We are to act as if we were never here… This is the will of Pope Bibi Dong."

Upon hearing this, Chrysanthemum Yue Guan conjured a ball of flame, burning the intelligence report to ashes with a cold snort:

"Lucky for them."

"Aside from that, have you uncovered Ye Tian's background?"

As he spoke, Chrysanthemum Yue Guan clenched his fists. This brat had dared to hold Bibi Dong's hand! He even held Hu Liena's hand too!

He clearly had a death wish!

Hearing the superior's question, the Holy Knight bowed again and replied, "Our team spent all day investigating, and we've roughly pieced things together."

"It seems Ye Tian inherited some medical knowledge and made his fortune through it. His healing abilities are quite famous along the coast."

"In recent years, he has set up many workshops in the mountains near the coast, selling products far and wide, even to independent islands that occasionally send ships to purchase Ye Tian's goods."

"Ye Tian frequently assists the common people. Last year, when the coastal region was struck by floods, the four great families of East Sea City refused to help.

It was Ye Tian who secretly sent people to distribute food, helping the people through the disaster. The commoners are very grateful to him. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Overall, his reputation along the coast is quite impressive."

"Merely seeking fame," Chrysanthemum Yue Guan scoffed, flicking his sleeves with a cold snort.

In his eyes, in this world where strength ruled, all reputation was meaningless. Only overwhelming strength could inspire genuine respect!

He said lightly, "You've investigated his wealth and fame well enough. But what about his strength? Does he have any powerful figures around him? Any alliances with other forces?"

The Holy Knight chuckled and said, "As the leader of one of the three great knight orders of the Spirit Hall, how could my intelligence officers miss such details?"

He explained, "Although Ye Tian is intelligent and wealthy, he was born with a rank-zero spirit and cannot cultivate."

"However, he is able to concoct pills that assist soul masters in their cultivation, which has allowed him to attract quite a few soul masters. We estimate he has about twenty soul masters under his command. The strongest among them is a Soul Emperor."

"As for alliances, Ye Tian seems to be a solitary figure. He spends his days appreciating flowers, personally tending to some crops, and fishing. He's never left the coastal region."

Hearing this, Chrysanthemum Yue Guan flexed his wrists, glancing at his own spirit with a mocking smile.

"This guy knows how to enjoy life. But without desire, there's no motivation to grow stronger. Eventually, he'll be left behind by the times."

At this point, Chrysanthemum Yue Guan's wariness of Ye Tian eased considerably.

Bibi Dong and Hu Liena were both lofty individuals, so naturally, they wouldn't take a fancy to a country bumpkin like Ye Tian.

They likely found Ye Tian amusing and were simply taking a relaxing trip.

If Ye Tian harbored no ulterior motives, then so be it.

But if he did, Chrysanthemum Yue Guan would show no mercy!

The next day.

Butterfly Farm.

Ye Tian never liked to sleep in, so he woke up early as usual.

After washing up, he walked down the long vine-covered corridor and noticed that there were more staff members around the courtyard than usual.

They were likely guards arranged by Thirteen.

Ye Tian didn't pay much attention to them. He stepped across the lawn, over the threshold, and entered the room where Xiao Xin was resting.

Since she wasn't a soul master and had poor resistance, having just undergone surgery, there was a risk of infection.

So, he went to check on her.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, a young woman approached and bowed slightly to Ye Tian, "Good morning, young master."

Ye Tian nodded in acknowledgment. He recognized her—she was a physician from Zizhu Village.

In order to improve local healthcare, Ye Tian had trained many physicians, and Qin Xuan was one of them.

Although these so-called physicians could only brew simple herbal medicines and treat minor injuries, that was enough.

Before there were physicians, serious injuries in the mountains often led to amputations due to infection.

As for fevers, adults with strong resistance might survive, but for children, a fifty percent survival rate was considered lucky.

Since the physician system was established, the occurrence of such cases had dropped to zero.

The mountain people were deeply grateful to Ye Tian, and even he couldn't help but marvel at the power of modern medical theory.

Back on Blue Star, he hadn't realized its significance.

It was only in this world that he truly appreciated the benefits of widespread medical care.

Ye Tian asked, "Has Xiaoxin woken up?"

Qin Xuan replied, "She woke up briefly last night but fell back asleep."

Ye Tian glanced at the bed where Xiaoxin lay with her eyes closed. He walked quietly over to the bedside.

To avoid disturbing her rest, he gently lifted the blanket.

It was still autumn, so the blanket wasn't too thick, and there was little chance she would notice it being lifted.

Underneath, Ye Tian saw that her bloody clothes had been changed, and her stitched wounds were neatly bandaged, with a small butterfly knot tied at the ends.

It was likely Qin Xuan's handiwork. The bandaging technique was well-learned, and he had personally praised it during training.

"Do you need scissors?" Qin Xuan asked softly, turning slightly to the side.

Ye Tian shook his head, revealing a Taiyi Divine Needle between his fingers.

His needlework was far faster than scissors.
