Pirate Attack

As soon as Li Jiuchuan agreed, Ye Tian's lips curved into a slight smile. Holding her hand, he strode confidently out of the courtyard. Zhou Long followed in silence, keeping pace.

Hu Liena was left behind, bewildered, caught in a whirlwind of emotions. Her mournful eyes seemed on the verge of tears. She furiously tugged at her hair and jogged to catch up.

Ye Tian was too devious! He actually used Li Jiuchuan to threaten her.

She had to admit, Li Jiuchuan was indeed a threat.

She needed to leave Golden Turtle Island as soon as possible. Once she did, she would be the only one left by Ye Tian's side again.

"Wait for me!" Hu Liena called out, quickening her steps.

Ye Tian turned his head and smiled at her. "I didn't invite you, Nana."

Hu Liena waved her hand dismissively and raised her head. "I want to be with Jiuchuan. There's nothing wrong with that, is there?"

Sensing the rising tension, Li Jiuchuan awkwardly smiled. She could clearly see the jealousy on Nana's face.

She stepped forward, wrapped her arm around Hu Liena's waist, and said with a lighthearted tone, "Haha, since you've come to Golden Turtle Island, you're all my guests. Let's go together."

Ye Tian didn't object.

Hu Liena deliberately moved closer to Ye Tian, hooking her arm through his sleeve. "Let's go," she said, casting him a sidelong glance.

There were no fishing grounds around Golden Turtle Island. Essentially, it was just a harbor with so much ship traffic that even the fish had been scared away. But this didn't dampen anyone's enthusiasm for fishing.

Except for Ye Tian, no one else caught anything.

Zhou Long, standing nearby and looking at the few fish in his basket, couldn't help but use his mental energy to scan the sea.

"Twenty meters to the left, there's a knife fish."

"Huh?" Hu Liena, hearing his prompt, was puzzled for a moment, but quickly understood. Her bright eyes sparkled as she reeled in her line and cast it in the direction Zhou Long indicated.

Sure enough, the moment her hook hit the water, there was a tug on the line.

The poor knife fish was no match for Hu Liena's strength. Without much of a fight, it was quickly dragged to shore.

"This knife fish is beautiful," Hu Liena said proudly as she used her soul power to knock it out and placed it in her basket.

Li Jiuchuan clapped and praised, "Nana, you're amazing."

Seeing her pride, Ye Tian couldn't help but smile at the insincere compliment Li Jiuchuan gave.

Indeed, these leisurely moments were the most enjoyable. Traveling the continent as a soul master only brought unnecessary trouble. Thankfully, he didn't choose that path.

However, the peaceful fishing didn't last long. The weather at sea was unpredictable. One moment, it was sunny and clear, and the next, a strong wind blew in. The waves crashed against the shore, soaking the two women.

But the Li family servants, who had accompanied Li Jiuchuan, seemed prepared for this. An older woman brought two robes for Li Jiuchuan and Hu Liena, reminding everyone, "Young Master Ye, young ladies, it looks like a typhoon is coming. We should leave the shore quickly."

Having lived on the island for so long, the servants had a nearly infallible instinct for the weather.

As a time-traveler, Ye Tian also knew how to read the clouds. Shielding his eyes with his hand, he looked at the sky. A windy day was inevitable.

"Alright," he said, clapping his hands and looking at the two women. "Safety first. Let's head back quickly."

"Fine," Hu Liena said, though clearly reluctant.

Li Jiuchuan gazed out at the sea for a long time, feeling disheartened. "This typhoon came so suddenly. It'll probably bring heavy rain too."

Having lived on the island for many years, she had a sense of the typhoon's patterns.

At that moment, Zhou Long, who had been silent, suddenly became alert. "Look over there," he pointed toward the distant ocean.

Hearing his words, Ye Tian stepped back a few paces and climbed onto a large rock to get a better view.

A fleet of dark ships appeared on the horizon.

"What is it?" Li Jiuchuan, being shorter, couldn't see as far. She followed Ye Tian's lead and climbed onto the rock. Following his gaze, she spotted a skull flag on one of the lead ships, and her expression changed drastically.

"Pirates," she muttered.

Zhou Long stepped forward, speculating cautiously, "The typhoon probably came too quickly, and with no shelter nearby, the pirates are preparing to attack Golden Turtle Island."

Upon hearing this, Li Jiuchuan immediately jumped down from the rock, not bothering to speak to the others. She lifted her skirt and ran. "I must inform Grandfather!"

Watching her retreating figure, Zhou Long approached Ye Tian and whispered, "Young Master, should we leave early or...?"

He left the decision to Ye Tian.

The typhoon and rain wouldn't affect the submarine, and even if they left now, they could return to the East Sea coast without issue.

Ye Tian squinted at the distant pirates. "Leave? We haven't gotten our money yet."

The 5 million for treating Li Haitian hadn't been paid yet. Handing it over to the pirates would make this whole trip a waste.

"I understand." Zhou Long bowed. "I'll head to the port to notify the submarine for battle preparations."

He left for the port.

On the other side, Hu Liena walked over to Ye Tian and smiled calmly, "With you here, those pirates are really bold to come."

She knew that the Holy Knights of the Pope's Palace had been notified of their trip to Golden Turtle Island. In fact, a high-level patrol team from the Spirit Hall had been quietly circling the island, protecting them.

So, Hu Liena wasn't afraid of the pirates at all. If they dared to show up, the patrol team wouldn't mind doing the East Sea a favor.

Ye Tian smiled softly and ruffled her golden hair. "Don't praise me too much. Soon, a pirate might kidnap you to be his wife."

"And will you come rescue me?" Hu Liena looked up at him with genuine curiosity.

Ye Tian smiled slightly. This was an easy question.

He lightly tapped her forehead. "Silly girl, how could you be captured?"

Hu Liena's heart warmed, and her expression softened.

But Ye Tian's next words sent her blood pressure soaring.

"If you were captured, it's because I made a secret deal with the pirates. Why would I rescue you? That's just asking for trouble."

Glaring at his back, Hu Liena puffed out her cheeks in frustration. "I'm your sister—you'll never get rid of me!"

Ye Tian smirked. "You won't always be around. Someday, you'll get married."

Blushing furiously, Hu Liena lowered her head, momentarily at a loss for words.

Suddenly, she froze.

She felt Ye Tian's arm drape over her shoulder, making her blush even more. She looked up at him, who was now very close.

"What are you trying to do?" Hu Liena pressed her hand to her chest, her heart pounding.

"What am I trying to do?" Ye Tian smiled mischievously, looking directly into her eyes. "Your thoughts are way too obvious."
