"Hello, brother."
Hu Liena, dressed in a short skirt, greeted Ye Tian playfully.
Ye Tian was taken aback by the length of her skirt. Even though East Sea City was near the coast, winter temperatures were still quite chilly. One had to admire girls—they seemed immune to the cold.
"What are you sewing? When I walked in, you quickly hid it. Are you afraid I'll see it?" Ye Tian asked, his eyes filled with curiosity.
Hu Liena smiled nonchalantly and waved her hand. "It's a gift for you, but you'll only get it on our wedding day."
"Alright, I'll remember that."
Ye Tian chuckled, tapping her lightly on the head. Since she didn't want to show it, he decided to wait until their wedding day to find out.
"By the way, why are you back at the farm? Has Qian Renxue already left East Sea City?"
"She has, but not entirely."
Ye Tian smiled and explained everything that had happened that day to Hu Liena.
Upon hearing about Qian Renxue's injuries, Hu Liena's expression grew serious. She felt a twinge of sympathy for Sister Xiaoxue.
"She won't be leaving East Sea City for at least half a month," Ye Tian said, shrugging.
Hu Liena's eyes lit up. That meant Qian Renxue could attend her wedding! It was a silver lining amidst all the sorrow.
She also couldn't help but feel a bit smug—she'd get to show off in front of Qian Renxue.
She, Hu Liena, was about to become someone's wife. Even though she and Qian Renxue had a harmonious relationship on the surface, deep down, a subtle sense of rivalry lingered.
She had to admit, Qian Renxue's talent was superior, and her status as the heir to the Angel Clan gave her an edge.
But Hu Liena had found happiness before Qian Renxue, a one-of-a-kind joy across the entire continent. Being able to marry Ye Tian was an accomplishment she could boast about forever.
After all, Ye Tian's intelligence, elegance, and kindness were unmatched throughout the Douluo Continent.
With a sly grin, Hu Liena leaned forward and said, "Since Qian Renxue can't leave, we should invite her to our wedding. She can be a witness."
"I was thinking the same thing." Ye Tian smiled and glanced around. "Where's your teacher?"
Assuming Ye Tian wanted to discuss the matter with her teacher, Hu Liena pointed to the study. "She's reading inside."
Ye Tian walked to the study and knocked on the door.
The small farmhouse wasn't very soundproof, so Bibi Dong had overheard Ye Tian and Hu Liena's conversation. Closing the math book she'd borrowed from East Sea Academy, she said softly, "Come in."
As Ye Tian entered, his gaze lingered on Bibi Dong's elegant face. He'd never truly looked at her before.
Now that he did, he noticed subtle differences in their features. Though he couldn't pinpoint the exact reason, something about her demeanor set her apart.
Bibi Dong, noticing his stare, narrowed her eyes slightly.
"Xiaotian, is something wrong today? Do I have flowers on my face?" she teased, lightly touching her cheek.
"Your face is far more beautiful than any flower," Ye Tian replied with a faint smile.
He realized the difference lay in her temperament—calm and unshaken. It was unusual for someone just over twenty years old to have such composure.
Taking a seat beside her, Ye Tian was about to test the waters by mentioning Ning Fengzhi when Bibi Dong spoke first.
"Did Qian Renxue summon you to recruit you?" she asked casually, though her tone betrayed her concern.
"Indeed, Sister, you're sharp. That was her intention," Ye Tian admitted openly.
"Did you agree?" Bibi Dong asked, her expression unreadable.
Ye Tian paused. He hadn't agreed but had only promised to help Qian Renxue if necessary. However, to test Bibi Dong's reaction, he chose a different response.
"I didn't want to agree at first, but her offer was too generous."
Bibi Dong's calm demeanor faltered briefly, her heart filled with shock.
Ye Tian had accepted Qian Renxue's recruitment?
Had her daughter truly grown so capable?
Though astonished, Bibi Dong remained composed and casually asked, "What conditions did she offer?"
"A big one," Ye Tian replied with a smile. "She promised to make me the Emperor of the Heaven Dou Empire. A king's position is quite tempting."
Bibi Dong's mind raced. If that was the offer, she couldn't believe Ye Tian had accepted. His power rivaled that of an entire empire—he wouldn't be swayed by such a title.
"Surely, such an intangible position wouldn't entice you, would it?" she asked, smiling knowingly.
"Of course not, Sister." Ye Tian tapped the table lightly. "The real reason is that Qian Renxue gave me a promise."
"What promise?"
"She said if I agreed to her terms, she'd marry me to her sister," Ye Tian said, smiling mischievously.
Bibi Dong couldn't help but laugh internally. Qian Renxue didn't even have a sister!
She suspected her daughter had crafted a tale of a stunning, otherworldly beauty to pique Ye Tian's interest.
"Aren't you worried she's lying to you? What if she doesn't have a sister?" Bibi Dong cautioned.
She wasn't trying to expose her daughter but wanted to prepare Ye Tian for the possibility of deception. Lies like this wouldn't last long and could backfire, straining their relationship.
After all, no one in the Spirit Hall could rival Hu Liena or Qian Renxue in beauty.
