I’m His Daughter Too

The next morning, when Sophia woke up, she wasn't even sure when she had fallen asleep. The events of the previous night had exhausted her both mentally and emotionally. As soon as she opened her eyes, she felt a sharp headache pounding against her skull. She frowned, pressing her fingers against her temple as if that could ease the discomfort.

Her dry throat made her reach out toward the bedside table, where a glass jug of water sat. Haisley must have placed it there earlier. Without thinking much, she poured herself a cup and drank slowly, sighing as the cool liquid traveled down her throat.

After placing the cup back, she grabbed her phone, her tired eyes scanning the screen. A notification from Ethan caught her attention.

Ethan: Good morning, my love. I miss you already. I hope you slept well. I can't wait to see you today.

Below it were more messages, heart emojis, sweet words, and reassurances of love.
