Are You Pregnant?

The Argent Manor.

Today was unusually quiet for a Saturday morning. Golden rays of sunlight filtered through the tall glass windows, casting soft glows over the polished mahogany table. The usual clatter of plates and the easy chatter of family life were present, but subdued, held back by a tension that hadn't fully left since the last family gathering.

The air was lighter than before. Less suffocating. But it wasn't the same.

Sophia sat in her usual seat, pushing her scrambled eggs around with the side of her fork. Her appetite had been unpredictable lately, and this morning was no different. She barely ate a spoonful before her stomach turned again.

Across from her, Haisley sipped slowly on her tea, glancing at her husband beside her. Her features were calm, but there was a distance in her eyes. The kind that once would've melted away with a single giggle from Sophia. But not anymore.
