Chapter 26

**The Great Wake-Up**

*Athena's POV*

The first thing I noticed when I woke up was that sitting straight up after a coma is a bad idea. My body shot up like a spring-loaded jack-in-the-box, and for a moment, I was sure I'd launched myself out of bed and into orbit.

"What the…?" I gasped, clutching my chest as if that would somehow slow down the racehorse that was my heart. My eyes darted around, trying to make sense of my surroundings. The walls were too white, too clean—like an overly sanitized hospital room. Wait, that's exactly what it was. A hospital room. The realization hit me like a ton of bricks, and I immediately flopped back onto the bed, groaning.

"Ugh, so this is what they mean by rude awakenings," I muttered to the ceiling, which offered no words of comfort or sympathy. Typical.
