**Chapter 69**
Noticing they were spending more time than planned in enemy territory, Commander Kyle spoke up.
"We can all communicate freely with Hazen back at the barracks. Stay alert—we're still in enemy territory," he reminded them.
"The commander is right. Let's be on our way," Hazen said, reaching out for the sword of one of the dead soldiers in the room.
The rest nodded in agreement. Without delay, they headed out of the room, following Commander Kyle's lead toward the front door of the fortress. Kyle's sharp eyes scanned the environment as he skillfully led his men.
Suddenly, the sound of loud clapping echoed behind them, causing everyone to freeze in place.
"It seems the great Commander Kyle has entered my territory to take what's mine. Aren't you afraid you won't live to see the light of day?" a cold, feminine voice rang out behind them.
The men felt their hearts race, their grips tightening on their swords.
